Works great

I purchased this item so I could make a filling for dairy-free chocolate pie. I was making the pie for a lady who essentially relegated me to the friend-zone. Maybe more about that later.I've never owned nor used a double boiler before but it seems to me that a double boiler's melting pot ought to be heavy enough to displace a significant amount of the water it's sitting in. I assume that melting pots are light to avoid the expense of the metal and the inability of individuals to easily and accurately manipulate heavy items. That being said, I feel the need to say that this melting pot feels durable, looks well made and most importantly, yielded great results. As for the pot that the water sits in, the metal is thin but More Than capable of doing what it needs to do. Unfortunately the product comes packed in a bag only. No Box! As a result the pot had a dent when it arrived. See attached picture:For those of you still reading. It appears to me that my friend-zone relegation is under review after she consumed the entire pie by herself.

Love it! I wanted a double boiler for melting chocolate and this suits my needs perfectly. It’s a good size for small batches, heats up quickly and evenly, and is very easy to clean. It’s not super thick, so durability may be an issue for someone who plans to use it extensively, but for someone like me, that will probably use it once or twice a month at most, it’s great!

I absolutely love this bain marie and the added spatula has become my new favorite spatula to use so I am truly grateful for this product! Thank you so much!! Its amazing!!

This was nice, but the stock pot is not stainless steel.
