You can't go wrong with DMT's stones. Honestly, I'd say they're the best bang for buck quality diamond sharpening stones on the market now. I'd recommend pairing this stone with the DMT Fine and DMT Course, and then a decent strop with diamond compound and you're all set

You can't go wrong with DMT's stones. Best bang for buck quality diamond stones for sure. I'd recommend pairing their Course grit with the DMT Fine and DMT Very Fine, then getting a decent strop with diamond compound and your absolutely golden.P.S.DO NOT buy cheap whetstones off amazon, they're trash, trust me. Not only are whetstones just generally not as beginner friendly as diamond stones IMO but the cheap whetstones sold on amazon are just straight up trash that's been flipped from Alibaba and I'd rather sharpen my knives with concrete slabs off the street. If you wanna go for Whetstones, I'd definitely go with Shapton, they're about the DMT of the Whetstone world which is to say great quality at a good price.
