TAC 6.5” Rattler Steel Running Boards Fit 2003-2023 Chevy Express/GMC Savanna 1500/2500/3500 Full Size Van (Exclude Express 3500/4500 Cutaway Van) Utility Black Side Step Nerf Bars Side Bars

I put these running boards on a 2017 Chevy Express 3500 extended. Their are six brackets, two on driver side and four on passenger side. Each one requires the same hole drilled along the drip edge for one bolt each. The remaining bracket bolts (8) are larger and all have a flat bar (wth nut welded to it) that fits into eight different drain plugs underneath (no drilling). So the difficult part is drilling the holes close enough to the drain edge but not too far in that the washers won't go on. I had to grind a flat spot on all six drain edge washers so they would go onto the bolts (too far from drip edge and too close to vertical body panel underneath). Not that difficult with a bench grinder or dremel to flatten the round edge of a washer. My wife had difficulty getting into the van (arm strength) but with these boards she doesn't have a problem. They can move front to back (adjustment) but they are at one height only (acceptable). They also move maybe an inch and a quarter outward or inward to the user 's liking before tightening the step to the brackets. They give you a nice wide step. The only thing I was surprised was how heavy they were, but with weight comes strength and these are very strong stiff steel steps. I had the round bars with plastic inserts on a pickup once and they always had a risk of slipping when you shoes were wet. Took me a couple hours to install, after knowing the ins and outs it would take about an hour next time. You will need three metric sockets sizes and two metric wrenches and one drill bit to install.

I installed these on my dad’s Chevy 2500 Express van. He’s a 77 year old Veteran who was having some trouble getting into and out of his van. These are a stout set of running boards and are a definite value for the money. They arrived on time, had all of the hardware and a good set of instructions. It only took a couple of hours to install with only a basic set of hand tools, a drill and a 5/16 drill bit. My dad was extremely happy and excited when he saw them installed.

Fit was very good. Minimal drilling required was a huge plus for me!!! Packaged very well, arrived in excellent condition, despite the huge hole in the side of the box, (thank you FedEx Ground!!)...A very small scratch noted when unboxing, most likely happened during boxing, because the parts were well separated and protected.Installation was a breeze, mounting took advantage of holes already in the sheet metal, and very minimal drilling required. Installed in less than three hours by my self.Would definitely recommend and would buy again!!!
