I just bought these on friday, yes in June, and used my first pair during a band job (I play Trumpet) we were sat on a bandstand on a cold and windy "summers" day. I have raynauds phenomenon, which bascially means changes in temperature effect my hands, they go white and very cold, dead looking. Bought these to use just in case I needed them. At the band job, I put one of these under my left palm, whilst playing during the band job. I was holding it between the palm of my hand and the trumpets valve casing. It worked brilliantly, kept my hand warm to the point that my left hand was no longer showing the Raynauds symptoms. My right hand did continue to suffer.After opening the hand warmer, it took a few minutes for each one to warm up. shaking it does help to get it going, but I don't think that was really needed. It stayed warm for the entire band job, and for several hours after. I noticed that the little soft bag (like a teabag) had lots of room in when I removed it from the pouch. Once the heat as stopped, the bag had filled completely, so whatever is inside had expanded. once finishd. I'd be throwing these away.I'd have no issues putting these inside gloves in the palm of my hands. Would be interesting to see how they will work in colder weather.These are a great addition to my keeping warm kit, which also has a couple of Zippo handwarmers - those are much more bulky than these, but the bulk does bring reusable.

I bought these for a holiday in very cold America. I wish I had thought about them when I was a footy mum! The first one took a while to warm but but when it did it was very warm and really did last as long as they say. I did find on occassion they actually got a little too hot but was really glad I had them.

I received these within the time period I was expecting them and I wanted them as I suffer greatly from Raynauds disease in WInter.I used them for the first time the other day and was I surprised and pleased at how warm they got.They really do live up to their description and were warm for up to 12 hrs.I think it would be ideal for when your going out in the morning perhaps to walk the Dog to pop some in your gloves and they would stay warm all day.I only wish I could have turned them off when I wasn't using my gloves .

What would I do without these little gems? They last so long (twelve hours and counting) and just get hotter and hotter as the day wears on. They're amazing. A thing to note: they take quite a while to warm up initially, so if I'm away camping during the winter and I'll be off on a hike or something, I crack a pair open as soon as I wake up (maybe put them in my shoes or my gloves) and then by the time I've had tea and got dressed they're starting to get toasty. Really are like little secrets of pleasure in your pockets!
