70 Extraordinary women that will inspire you to go after your dreams and make a difference
Extraordinary Women In History contains stories about 70 women who have changed something in the world. They are grouped into 7 different categories with each story containing a concise summary of each woman's biography. These stories are uplifting, empowering and fascinating. A number of the women I already know about but some I have never heard of before or how their story had an impact for women who followed. These women were trailblazers without meaning to be as they lived their lives and wanted to accomplish their dreams and goals. 'The biography's are full of information and facts, some which you may know and others that you may not. For the most part was an easy read and flowed nicely. There were a few times where it was a bit choppy but otherwise really good. I know that reading one of these stories each morning would be an inspiration to get up and go after your own dreams also, no matter how far away they may seem.

Great stories of some famous and unknown women ,who followed their dreams and broke barriers in a man's world. Short, fascinating articles on courageous and smart women.

Entertaining and informative
Women have been so neglected in the historical record that I eat up any scrap of information about them that I can find. I enjoyed seeing who would be included and who not in this collection of short biographies. There are both well-known figures, such as Elizabeth I and Amelia Erhard and lesser-known women such as Mary Anning and Fanny Eaton. The organization let me see the broad areas in which individual women are remembered. The selection includes women from diverse parts of the world, historical periods, and areas of endeavor. The book is well-referenced. Unfortunately, the writing is marred by poor style that makes this less enjoyable to read.

A LOT TO UNPACK
This book is packed with information. The author explores the lives of 70 women, some of whom are well-known and others left forgotten in the annals of history.Familiar faces include Florence Nightingale, Amelia Earhart, Dian Fossey, and Joan of Arc. Their field of endeavor ranges from military heroes, activists, athletes, inventors, and creative thinkers. The book harkens back to ancient and medieval times as well as contemporary examples. These women are representative of many races and many countries. There is a bibliography for additional research. This book would be a good starting point for research on women representatives to be used in the study of woman's history. My reason for a lower rating is that the writing is choppy in sections which can make it difficult to read. I would still recommend it as a reference book, particularly for middle-grade students.

extraordinary women in history
I never realized that women all over the world, throughout human history, have accomplished great feats, despite all of the opposition they faced. Their contribution to medicine, science, education, human rights, helping those who could not, or were prevented from helping others amazes me. Whether they accomplished these feats as independent individuals, or as unified groups of determined women, they paved the way for other great women to follow in their footsteps.

History is made by the people who write it! What an incredible find. Extraordinary women from every time, every continent, diverse, in every field. These histories must be remembered and written about. Everyone should be sharing these stories with their young girls. So incredible, inspiring, thoughtfully put together. Diverse, interesting, thoughtfully crafted. Thank you Leah Gail for an incredible book, I will treasure and recommend. Its so timely and needed. #diversity #truth #inspriing

The already known
I was looking for a book on unknown leaders but this displayed the already historical women from the past. While I learned about a few unknown women, most were common knowledge. I would have liked to see the pros and cons of how they changed the world. It's a biased account in glorifying controversial figures. If you want a basic book on figures to go further in research, this is a good start but nothing in depth.

So inspired about these women throughout history!
Great little book - an easy read with short chapters and inspiring women. The thing I most came away with is that I was inspired and want to know more about so many of these women! Hint, hint - maybe Leah Gail’s next book can expand on some of the ladies.

An inspiring and informative read.
As a history enthusiast, I was immediately intrigued by Leah Gail's book, Extraordinary Women in History: 70 Remarkable Women Who Made a Difference, Inspired & Broke Barriers. I was looking for a profound and empowering celebration of influential women throughout history, and I definitely found it in this book.Gail does an excellent job compiling the incredible real-life stories of 70 remarkable women from around the world. These short stories seek to inspire and empower women of all backgrounds to dream big and break barriers. From female daredevils and pioneering innovators to radical reformers, dedicated activists, leaders, wordsmiths, artists, veterans, and more, I was inspired by each woman's journey and the legacy she left behind. Some of the women highlighted include Junko Tabei, the first female to reach the summit of Mount Everest, Mary Eliza Mahoney, the first licensed African American Nurse, and Irena Sendler, who rescued 2,500 Jewish children in World War II. These are just a few of the remarkable women that readers will learn about in this book.Overall, Extraordinary Women in History is an inspiring and informative read. It's perfect for history fans, educators, and anyone interested in discovering the legacies of these remarkable women. I highly recommend it.

Awesome educative book to grab and read !
It’s amazing to find a book that highlights the historical stories of women who have fought to make a difference in our world .I found it very educative and it enriched my knowledge as I didn’t realise some of these women existed.I love the structure of the book as it categorises how women have succeeded in different sectors or fields .It reminds me of how we women can continue to make a difference regardless of the role we are occupying and these women serve as role models to admire and follow.
