we have bought this bread several timesIf you have not lived in eastern Europe you might not like itIt is dense and hard and solid I love it with unsalted butter and honeyI also like it with cream cheese ,then lingon berry jam ,then cover with sour creamSour cream and cream cheese taste like quarkWe always like to have this bread on hand in the freezerVery filling ......I only eat a very small piece in the morning with STRONG black coffeeit is also good with cream cheese and blood sausage and Klausen kosher dill picklesand covered with sour cream

A beautiful, heavy, dense, full-flavored real rye bread that sends me reeling whenever I smell a loaf of this stuff. This is THE real deal for a real rye bread. Well worth the money. YUMMM!!!
I recently discovered black bread (what rock was I living under?!), and wanted to see how the local version (whole foods black russian bread) compares to something more authentic. I loved the whole foods version (great toasted with a hearty soup), but I LOOVVVVEEE this authentic version even more. Super dense, has a wonderful fragrance when slicing, and toasting releases the dark yummy malty rye goodness!! Sooo glad I decided to test this version, it is hands down the best! Toasted with anything or nothing it is divine!

Excellent dark rye bread.
Excellent dark rye bread. I have purchased this 6 times and the quality is consistently excellent.If you enjoy authentic European dark rye bread, you will enjoy this. I have not been able to find dark rye bread of this quality anywhere in California. I buy this bread, freeze part of it and the bread tastes just as good after being frozen. Delivery is free and very quick. Highly recommend this!

Sort of what I expected.
Default order [ if I recall correctly ] was the bread came sliced. But mine did not and it was very difficult for me to slice. I did like the bread tho.
