Birds don't like it, hard to fill
Narrow tube makes it hard to fill without spilling seed without using a specialty container to pour seed into first. Previous feeder in same spot was used by all sorts of birds for years, now birds won't go near this one even after washing it, and being up for several days with the same seed. The extra length means deer can more easily hit their heads against it to spill seed on the ground to eat. Seems to be the way tube feeders are made now, long and narrow or too big for a small person to handle.

Attracts Finches and Cardinals
This is a favorite feeder for my Cardinals and Finches. I wanted to a tube feeder for convenience and healthier birds. This feeder filled the bill for a low price. Cardinals were able to fly on the perches and eat easily. My Finches love it. Unfortunately, it is a very lightweight feeder so tends to swing on a shepherd's hook. I notice feed wedged in the tube which may be difficult to clean. I love to see Stokes make a metal version with a bottom release for cleaning. Overall, I am very happy with the feeder.

Squirrels will demolish this.
Feeder was destroyed in one week by squirrels. The feeder itself is a very nice design. The plastic tube is not as heavy as the one I replaced. But this one seems to have a better capping system. Birds love the perches.

Works well
The birds love this thing. It took a minute for them to understand that it had food in it and how to eat from it. Now they know and they're here all the time. The primary visitors are cardinals, finches, and grosbeaks. It does sway really easily and I needed to buy a funnel to fill it but overall I've enjoyed having this feeder.

Great feeder for right location
The feeder is well designed; easy to open, fill and hose out when desired. Unfortunately, we have very talented and persistent squirrels who are able to jump to the pole above the pole bevel who began chewing almost immediately. We have to keep our feeders under cover as we frequently have Red-shouldered Hawks. We also have an abundance of squirrels as I accept orphaned, hand raised squirrels that have matured and can be released.

not as good as the older version
I'm disappointed that this stokes feeder is significantly smaller than my older ones. I ordered a Stokes because I like my old feeders. I'm going to have to look for a different brand. This one seems made well enough. It's just quite a bit smaller than I expected. Good for goldfinch but not anything bigger.

Great for attracting small birds like Finches, Sparrows and smaller Cardinal birds.
Great for attracting small birds like finches and sparrows, but I stopped using it because the seeds drop to the ground and it also brings in a lot of unwanted birds like pigeons, doves and chickens. I wound up with more doves and pigeons which loves to perch on top of my roof and make a mess with their poo.The only reason for not giving it a 5 star rating if because it is hard to clean inside. I had to remove the bottom perch which are in two pieces and held together by a Phillips screw. The small particles gets logged in between the clear plastic cylinder and the red cylinder below, and when it gets damp starts to look disgusting!

Comfortable U perch
I like that the birds have a perch where they can face their food. I don't like that the clear plastic will turn yellow in the sun.
