CR Brophy Machine Works SC34 48" Safety Cable with Clevis Hook and Open Loop End

I selected this particular cable because of the hook arrangement illustrated. I needed a smaller hook than the forged hook (looks cast to most of us lay-people) that comes on the common and much lower priced offerings from other manufacturers. Needing that smaller hook profile to worm its way under my receiver lock and still accommodate my break-away safety cable, I selected this higher priced cable (about $10 more for a pair including shipping than similar offerings). Imagine my frustration to open the package to find the very attachment hook I was looking to avoid and no time to return or order a replacement before our scheduled holiday outing. Forced to cut off the provided hook and purchase a suitable low profile hook at the local hardware store puts me about double what I could (and I guess should) have paid elsewhere. It's a safety cable, that I assume will work as rated when needed, but wasn't as illustrated and didn't meet my particular needs. Shop elsewhere...you'll be happier.

One improvement would be to protect or cover the cut ends of the cable where the swagged fitting is. I cut my finger the first time I picked thecable up, otherwise, very good. I am still waiting for the second cable which has been back ordered.Thanks, Bob
