WILD! Science ENVIRONMENTAL Volcanos of The World - Science Kit for Ages 8+ - Create 11 Volcanos, Mineral Pools, Lava Bombs, Tectonic Map and More

We homeschool and this was a FANTASTIC addition our geology unit. My boys (10 & 8) loved making the molds and the lava bombs and putting the puzzle together and finding the volcanos on the map.

It took us a while, a matter of weeks honestly, to get through all of this stuff. I have twin seven year olds who are voracious readers but definitely needed help with the experiments. The first thing we did was start with doing the molds of the volcanoes which was pretty fun. It comes with a puzzle that shows you where each of the volcanoes are. This was a bit of a learning experience because my kids understand the world is round but we're having a bit of trouble with it flattened out into a puzzle. They can put the United States together as a puzzle but understanding that the entire world can be shown flat was something for their little minds to process. I did pull out the globe and we put stars where the volcanoes were just to make it a little more real. After your molds dry you can paint the volcanoes to make them look real with erupting lava and all. The directions included are pretty good.I moved on next to using the included plastic form to watch the volcanoes erupt. You can make your own lava tablets or bombs as they call them which is just the pre-measured (when you fill the included hole) medium. You pour in the accelerant and watch the volcano erupt. I would highly suggest doing this outside. It can go a little crazy and definitely flows over the edge of the plastic form. This, for obvious reasons, was the most fun out of this kit.There are tons of little things to keep hands busy and so much information. Up until a couple weeks ago we were doing virtual school and had a bit of free time on her hands so this was a way for me to stay involved but also mixed fun with learning. The great thing about this kit is that it contains enough that you can make more than one lesson out of it.

Pun intended! Great STEM activity!This is absolutely perfect for my 5 & 8 year old kiddos. An awesome additional learning experience during our virtual learning period.You’ll most likely need to help your kiddos with the mixing and such but there isn’t anything too crazy. My 8 year old really got into it and just needed a little help with the instructions but was able to execute the experiments with my help. And of course my 5 year old observed a lot but was able to get into the action when it came to painting the volcanoes. Though take note it’s a two day process. 2 hours is listed for the player but overnight is suggested. The lava bombs were near but I actually think my kids had more fun painting and learning about each volcano.Was interesting and informative! I even learned a lot! Did you know that there is a volcano in Antarctica!! With lava boiling!Very cool science kit. We will definitely be checking to see if there are more kits like this from Wild Environmental Science!

My 7-year-old son loved playing with this volcano kit! There's a lot to do, and all of the activities are fun and interesting, from building and painting models of well known volcanoes to creating your own mini eruptions! The directions are clear and the educational part of the booklet is informative. The volcanic eruptions/lava flows can be a bit messy so that part is probably best done outside.This is an excellent kit and is well worth the money. It would make a great gift.

my wife homeschools our girls and they like to pick out their science activities (great for motivation to do/learn things, right??). this is an awesome kit to teach them about volcanoes. easy to put together and plenty for them to dive in to when learning and wanting to learn more.
