Pretty big point that is conviently missing from the item ...
Complete misrepresentation!!! This should not be sold!! There is NO interactive app for children! I dont understand how they get away with saying there is! Plus, another major catch that isn't explained...if you don't have sn adult iBitz, you can't use the Parent Unity App! Pretty big point that is conviently missing from the item description AND website! If you have more then one kid and each doesn't habe their own apple device, the only way to see progress is to sync one kid, log out, log in as other kid and sync again...about 10 minutes of fruatration! Save you money!

Would love to see steps displayed on the device itself
My daughter loves it and it syncs with her ipad. Her only complaint is that she wishes she could see the steps on a digital disply on the pedometer itself. I agree that this would help the child ascertain whether it is accurately reflecting her steps or not.

Love it!
i read a NY Times article about how we track our steps and all kinds of details, but not our kids. I was excited to find this device and the price was perfect. It is not perfect, but it works well and my kids like the app. In addition I got my first e-mail update with my kids weekly summary and it was great. Here are some challenges that I have had/opportunities:One of the two devices that I ordered arrived with a dead battery. It acted differently than the directions and was mostly frustrating to set up until I replaced the battery. (Luckily not came with an extra battery - that was awesome)I had trouble with the app and the passwords. I also had trouble with the parent password. Once I got it all set up (each kid is linked to a different iPhone and different e-mail address), it seemed to work great.I think one may be more sensitive than the other in terms of steps. I don't think my older son really gets that many more steps than his brother, but they are usually no place close to each other. Not sure howong it will last, but it stays on strong and my kids will probably misplace them before they stop working. My kids love the app. The more steps they take the further out their space ship will go. For the first time, today my son got way more steps on his ibit than I got on my garmin.

Good for my five-year-old even though it doesn't show steps
I got this for my 5 year old son. I wanted an activity tracker for him, and the price was right. Once he understood that he had to sync with Daddy's phone to see his steps, he understood and now loves it. It shows a little rocket ship flying through space as the steps count. We haven't been able to figure out how to play the games, but he's still enjoying it. He's keeping up with his older brother, who got a Striiv kids pedometer. My husband had a little trouble with the first sync, but got it working in about 15 minutes. My only complaint so far is that it doesn't work with PC or Android devices. I didn't pay enough attention to that when I ordered it. Fortunately my husband has an iphone, so we can sync it with that. I hope they will expand the software. I would love if it could sync with a kindle! The clip is very sturdy, but I also attached a generic leash and clip, to add extra protection against loss.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS!!! The app does not work and that is the only way to see how many steps you have. The app tries to update the device and then crashes. I tried contacting customer service and the phone numbers don't work. Tired their Facebook page and nothing. I wouldn't go through so much trouble but my daughter was very excited about it. Needless to say it has been a big disappointment.

great little pedo for kids!
Fun little pedo! My little guy (8) loves to sync this with my iPhone. He was getting a little heavy for his height so we gave him this to track his fitness. He's up to about 3-4 miles a day, has lost 10 lbs!!! From 103lbs to 93lbs. He's no longer obese in BMI and we are all happy. It made a focus on fitness and not just "skinny" he's very pleased with it and so is his pediatrician :)

Not worth it
Bought 2 of the iBitz for my 10 and 12 year old daughters. They wanted a Fitbit, but being young I didn't want to pay the Fitbit cost. These had mixed reviews, but decided for the cost I would try them. Well they didn't last very long. After a few weeks one stopped working. We replaced the battery (BTW I did not see the extra battery that they said was in the packaging), it worked for about a week then quit again. We also had a lot of trouble with it syncing to the apple devices (we were using an iPod for one kid and an iPad for the other). Neat idea, but they should have lasted a lot longer. I also didn't like that the batteries appeared not not last very long.

It is a good price. I was unclear that it did not ...
IBitz tracker works. It is a good price. I was unclear that it did not publish or show the numbers of steps as the kids went. You have to log onto Smart Phone or Tablet to see the results. Also beware that if you have an older iPad that the app will not work. When I logged on to the kid portion of the app and went to leaderboards there were a LOT of adults on that and that was creepy to me. So just be ware that it is not always just a kids app. I wish I would have researched better. I have a little guy who loves to run and go jogging with Dad and I needed something affordable so that he could have a fitness tracker too. I would maybe spend more money to get something that he could run independently next time.

An Early Xmas pressie for the kids and for us - top notch!
I bought 2 of the iBitz kids trackers for my son and daughter(7 and 11) at the same time as buying the adult on for myself and my wife. The boxes are colourful and the kids were excited to be getting a new gadget (we got a blue and a pink - cliche yes but we knew it would be the ones they liked the most). The iBitz themselves are billed as water-resistant so the kids have been wearing them on their show laces and they have surived brilliantly so far! Oh and also comes with a spare battery which is always nice as they are the small round ones.First we got them both set-up; we all had to set up an account with iBitz - getting the kids wasnt too difficult though we had to entre in credit card details to proove they had adults supervising them which is ok i guess but a bit of a pain). Then we were able to set the kids activity goals, this is done by entering the adult username and password and then selecting a 'reward' for the kids. You can chose from 'screen time','adventure', and Club Penguin points - you should be able to see games and another one but i couldnt select. You can set multiple at the same time and change the title of the reward so its flexible. The kids app itself looks good. its all based around these little charectures that you are helping blast off into space - the more activity the kids do the more it helps them etc etc.The other review here is right, you can only use the kids app with the kids iBtiz code and the Adult one with the code on the adults iBtiz. What is fantastic is that you can connect all the iBitz through the adult app! This means that we can see all of the families acvitity at one time which is really interesting to see when the kids AND us are active.PROScolourful - the kids love themonly £30 for a fitness trackerKids app with games and targetslinking together of all the families ibitzHard as nails - the kids have been wearing them on their laces and still working perfectly!CONSSetup - had to enter in card details for security reasons

Totally disappointed and unimpressed.
It took a very long time to come gave it as a Christmas rather than birthday present and it doesn't work!

Disappointing and Suspicious
It was much anticipated at the house as we primed our little girl about how awesome it will be to track how far she went in a day. Out of the box and ... need to find the app. All right, app is installed and ... need to register. What's this? You need an adult's credit card? Just to verify an adult is part of the sign up process? That's suspicious and wholly unnecessary. All right, registered and ... need to update the firmware. Supposedly a simple task but the firmware upgrade never seemed to complete or never said it was complete. Hung up the app. Okay restart, maybe ignore that message. Okay, mounted on the shoe and jumping around. No steps. Try some more and hit the sync button. Finally some success and excitement - because up until now there has been none of that!! Off again and more jumping around. Sync again ... waiting ... waiting ... waiting. Hasn't synced again since.I do not recommend this item. It now sits on a counter, waiting ... waiting .... waiting...

A waste of money
Stopped working after a week. The seller does not want to have anything to do with it and the manufacturer seems to be out of business.
