What an ingenious solution! This product uses the stock Cannondale headshok sealed bearings/cups and hardly increases the stack height at all. It sits right in the bearings. Install was a bit of a pita because of the tight tolerances but if you plan, have the right tools, and measure everything correctly you will have zero issues with this product. Also you might want to just replace the bearings while you're in there. This company also sells the bearings. I'll have this bike for another 20 years now.

This item works as it is intended, and it works very well. However there are some things that the user should be aware of. This comes with two parts that replace the lower crown race and the upper bearing cover. It also eliminates the need for an upper race. The clearance for the top adapter are very tight. Make sure your bearings are in good shape because getting it off can be a pain.
