SO Asimov. 💖
I thought that I had read everything Asimov wrote in the science fiction category, imagine what Joy it was that I found I missed one. I can't express enough the challenge of this man and how beloved his works are not only to me but many many many many others. It's an easy reading mystery with a satisfying end what more can I say. Read it you'll enjoy it

Classic Science Fiction as it is supposed to be...Social Commentary
Typical work by Isaac Asimov, which is nearly always excellent, especially in his early years, and not trying to appease "Fantasy" or "Action" readers. This story was published in 1951, but it's message could be applied to current issues within the global society, as well as those that prevailed in post-WW II when it was written. It may not be for all readers, but for those who would like some insights to what is happening in the world around you, it may be a more enjoyable read than you would think.

Classic Asimov
Great stuff, none of the Big Brother nonsense of the Second Foundation and the later Robot series books. I loved those books when I first read them, but after seeing all the wannabe heroes of our current generation of "scientists" who are determined to save mankind even if that means removing every last human from the planet, I am saddened to know that many were inspired by Isaac the Great. Paul Krugman has said so explicitly, he always wanted to be like Hari Seldon.

Worn, but excellent read
The book itself had seen some better days, but considering how long ago the original printing of this book was, I can forgive it. The book itself was a fast paced sci-fi adventure, with Asimov's trademark attention to detail and typical plot mechanics. I enjoyed the characters, and the double-plot twist near the end. It was one of the few books from him I've read that involved romance between characters, which was interesting to read. Progressive for its time, I'd rank this as one of my new favorite books of his (current favorite being his robot detective series followed by the end of eternity).

Good Read. Mild spoilers ahead.
Classic SciFi. Great storytelling. Asimov is masterful. The concepts haven't all aged too well, but a surprising amount is still relevant. Mild spoiler ahead.Minus one star simply because of the lack of androids. I was really disappointed that they were absent from his vision of the galactic future.

Hard to believe how much I disliked this book
I have read and enjoyed quite a few of the books by Isaac Azimov. I am at a loss as to how anyone could like this one and how it gets such great reviews. It makes no sense, is poorly written and to be frank it's boring.

As always, Asimov triumphant !
Dr. Asimov once again succeeds with an exciting plot full of surprises, scientific theories explained for those quite unfamiliar with the topic s, and charming characters whose purpose, is of course, to delineate his ideas, rather been to present deep psychological and spiritual struggles. This is a very enjoyable book

An enjoyable read
For me, this is one of Asimov's best long stories. I first read it over 40 years ago and have returned to it a few times since along with The End of Eternity which I read around the same time. Asimov was adept in his stories at creating entire societies and introducing interesting sci-fi technologies into them. The adventure-detective story nature of this novel is engaging. My original paperback with its long-detached cover still resides in a cupboard at our house, but it has been nice through Amazon to get it back into my library proper, this time in hardback.

If you like Asimov, skip that book
I was trying to go through all books of the Robots and Empire series only to be completely let down by this one disappointing book. It's so bad that I gave up on continuing reading the series.

Brilliant read
I read this book when I was in my twenties, now in my sixties, and it's just as enjoyable as the rest of the Asimov books I've just bought from Amazon
