I wanted cast iron grill plates. This Panini grill has cast iron plates (require seasoning) and a dedicated circuit but that aside it will be a lifetime investment. I use my Panini grill as an indoor grill for way more than just sandwiches. I grill chicken breasts, beef and anything else I desire. Well built, HEAVY 45 pounds, well designed drip pan, and ample heat for anything you would desire to cook.

The top of the grill rests unevenly on the top of the paninis. If there is an adjustment for this it isn't clear. I would prefer that the top grill rest level on the sandwich...the front end seems to tip up. Other than that it is a nice grill and cooks to perfection :)
