Does a perfect job, with an amazingly low price as well
Earlier this week, I upgraded a spare Windows 7 notebook to Windows 10, before the free upgrade offer expired. Unfortunately, Win 10 was not compatible with the wireless network card in the four year old computer, and WiFi would shut down a few seconds after turning it on. Instead of a $100+ new built in wireless card, I purchased the Joiot Dual Band receiver. I simply installed the software from the enclosed CD, inserted the receiver into a free USB socket, and the drivers self-installed. I was able to connect within seconds. The receiver sees both the high and low frequency bands, whereas older devices in the household (TVs, tablets, etc.) see only the lower frequency channel.I have cable internet rated for 50 Mbs down/10 Mbs up. Testing with this new receiver shows 60 Mbs down, 10 up. Downloads are 10 Mbs faster than my ethernet-wired desktop PC, which is three years newer. I don't know whether the Win 10 upgrade has any effect on download speed, but this purchase was far more cost effective than laying out over $100 for a Win 10-compatible network card.

May have to manually switch band to get full bandwidth
Just bought it and it looks like it defaults to 2.4GHz if it is present. I could only get about 15mbps when I should be getting around 75ish. Once I went into device manager->802.11 ac wireless LAN Card right click properties-> advanced tab -> channel mode -> "5G only" it would get about 65mpbs-70mbps which I was expecting. Of course this would only work if the network uses 5G. May be annoying if you constantly switch from a network with only a 2.4GHz to a dualband network since you would have to switch it in device manager constantly to get the full speed. Maybe 2.4GHz will work better for you if you are pretty far from your router.

Best Wi-Fi adapter - wireless energizer for laptops & desktops
Product exceeded expectations. Although its specs are not the best on paper, it's the best Wi-Fi adapter (802.11ac) I've found so far, even though it's not a name brand. It gets a signal where some built-in computer ones do not AND surprisingly provides much faster Wi-Fi connections than many built-in ones, especially on older computers. Because of its small size, it is excellent for laptops (does not need to be removed when packing It up). For desktop computers, it's a great way to be able to use them wirelessly anywhere in your home or office.NOTE: This adapter comes with its installation software on a mini-CD, so you need a built-in or external DVD/CD with a horizontal tray.

Upgraded My Cheap Laptop with this Tiny Device
At work they upgraded the WiFi signal, so now only devices that can operate on a 5Ghz speed can access the signal. My updated phone has 5Ghz capability, but my cheap laptop only operates on the 2.4Ghz signal. The IT guy at work recommended this quick and easy solution. It works like a charm. After the initial setup, all I have to do is plug in the USB when I get to work and voila! Now my laptop can access the WiFi while I'm at work and I didn't have to do any other upgrades to my laptop.

Worked for two weeks, then died.
UPDATE: Seller responded immediately to issue. Sent replacement right away. So far so good. Bumped rating from 1 star to 3 stars because of their great customer service. Will continue using for a couple months and update review again. Hopefully continues to work as well as it does today.Worked for a couple of weeks then died. Wouldn't risk it again with no-name brand. Rather pay a little more for hopefully better reliability, so I ordered a linksys adaptor.

Disappointed and would like to return
Very disappointed. I ordered this item expecting it to wifi connect at least as well as the adapter built into my laptop plus being able to connect to the 5 mhz signal from my new router. It does find the 5 mhz signal but other than that it is weak. My biggest complaint is with the installation. The instructions are close to matching what I saw on the screen but differed enough to be confusing. the first attempt resulted in an incomplete driver installation. the second got the adapter working but I am not convinced that it is the correct driver (although my lap top claims it is). I would like to return it to Amazon but there is no reason that matches reason. so I guess I will chalk this up to my bad judgement.

Works Very Well
I have a 6 year old desktop with no w-fi card and needed wi-fi for when my building installs some really fast fibre optic in a location in my apartment that is not good for my desktop. I have Windows 7 so it wasn't plug and play, but the enclosed cd enabled a smooth, easy installation of the drivers. The wi-fi works very well and is as fast as my internet was with a direct Ethernet connection so I am very pleased so far and look forward to seeing the speed I get when our new fibre optic is installed.

Works as advertised
This was a gift to someone who had a failed wireless radio on their notebook computer. I haven't used the product myself but the person I gave it to indicates it's working just fine ... range and speed appear to be equal to the wireless radio originally built into the notebook (Thinkpad T420)
