Unfortunately I had to return this camera as I could not get motion detection to work with my NVR (Milestone 1009UT), otherwise this is a brilliant camera, great picture, very well made, easy to set up and as a Linux user I did not have to install that other OS or any of its dubious plugins to access its GUI and settings.I really really did not want to return this camera but it just didn't work with my NVR.21Jul21.I found a spot where I don,t need motion detection and have decided to keep the camera.

The 5MP picture is quite nicely detailed. Unfortunately the difference between successive i-frames (regardless of settings, I've tried endlessly) is so significant that a low threshold of movement detection (e.g. in iSpy) gets triggered even when there is no movement at all of anything in the detection area. So you have to set the movement threshold higher, which of course means missing some moving objects like small creatures close up or larger objects further away like a car or person. Might be ok for watching for a person approaching your door, but hopeless for capturing wildlife clips in the garden. A friend also has one of these and I discover it suffers from the same problem but less troublesome in his case as his use is for distant scene, so seems little point in sending it back for replacement with the same model. I wouldn't buy this brand again. [EDITED AFTER 2 MONTHS OF USING THIS CAMERA] - dropped to 1 star because of really appalling image stability problems. In certain circumstances it's fine. Currently I have it pointing across our lawn to spot where a fox is getting in (!). During the night, it's great, the i-frame difference is small enough to be able to set a very low movement threshold, but in the daytime every time the wind blows a bit, the entire image suddenly pixellates as if the resolution has dropped to something like 320x480 or worse, and then it takes many seconds to build back up to full resolution. Movement threshold would have to be set at more than 30% to avoid false triggering, and then I'd miss anything that I actually want to trigger the recording! It's so awful I'm going to have to ditch it and use another brand. Definitely won't buy this brand again. My other camera (not this brand!) is absolutely perfect but they stopped making it, so the search begins again!

WiTi 5MP POE IP CameraGood Camera, absolutely awful software. Wont work with SMTP email security. Trying to find the right software was not very intuitive, eventually found software which is terrible. I have setup dozens of cameras and this one is a headache. Why cant the manufacturers finish off the software with some quality?

Happy with my purchase, great camera it has everything, vif, poe, microphone, 5mp, etc.

This is a very good quality camera it was easy to put up and the images are very very clear... The link to your phone is simple and will give you peace of mind when you are away from home
