Perfect sized butterfly house
These are perfect in size for about one dozen caterpillars. The cats are not crowded. It is easy to keep clean. I have purchased four of them so far as monarch cats are best contained in small batches about the same size. The mesh and top have ample space for The chrylis to form and plenty of room for butterfly wings to dry. The construction is mesh for good airflow. The mesh is tightly woven to keep wasp away. The zipper is high quality. I have no issues with the quality. If you aren't sure what you need, start here. Good investment for raising caterpillars.

For Sale - Caterpillar Condo, 1 BR, EXCELLENT views all around with Floor to Ceiling windows - even an open air sunroof
Habitat order arrived "next day". In perfect condition.- Very well made- No tears in the mesh- Zipper operates smoothly- real attention to detail - the "closed" end of the zipper has a little fabric hood - I guess so you don't accidentally snag the zipper on your clothing and jar the habitat and the critters within- I especially like the clear plastic viewing window on one side. One suggestion - which would probably make this a little bit cheaper to make. This is a *suggestion*... *NOT* a complaint...About that fabric guard over the "closed" end of the zipper.I'm a big guy - with big fingers - and I'm finding it a little awkward to get my fingers in there.I want to close the zipper all the way, so the caterpillars don't escape. But it's a minor hassle getting ahold of the zipper again when I need to open the habitat.I feel bad even mentioning it - clearly someone put some careful thought into the design.Honestly tho, I think the hood could be removed. All in all, a very nice product. I'll order more next season...

Works well
We've been using this for black swallowtail caterpillars, and it's worked very well. It's a perfect size, you can see well through the clear panel, and it's a great mesh--lets in air and keeps out predatory bugs. My only complaint is that the caterpillars seem to like to attach for their chrysalis stage on the inside seam of the zipper (no matter what else I put in there for them) which makes it difficult to unzip during that time. But otherwise it's perfect.

A nifty little cube
Bought this to rear a threesome of Black Swallowtail caterpillars...so far, so good. This is a nifty little cube, seems well made, with no inner seams to entrap small caterpillars or other insects. Small, but enough room for a couple of small pots of parsley, and a set of sticks for the caterpillars to pupate on when that time comes. Plastic "floor" is good for cleaning, and the zippered mesh side gives easy access.

Satisfactory caterpillar habitat.
I transferred my caterpillar into this habitat a few days ago. He's nocturnal, so he's curled up sleeping in the photo, but he comes out each night and eats a bunch of the leaves I put out for him. In the jar I had him in until this arrived, he didn't have much room and pretty much stayed in one corner. But he's been all over this tent, so he seems to like it. He tucks himself under the paper towels I put on the bottom when he sleeps, which wasn't why I put them there, but it seems to work fine. It's a little hard to see through the mesh, but I think it's a good material for the caterpillar with lots of air circulation and a good texture for climbing on.

Wonderful for raising Monarchs
This is perfect for raising Monarch caterpillars.I just had 3 chrysalis' that hatched in my habitat.Super easy to release them when they are ready. Just unzipped it and they flew.. Love the soft sides that keep the butterflies from damaging their wings as they dry and begin to test them in there. The clear panel allows you to monitor them easily and it' was roomy enough for three Butterflies. This should last for many years. Just unzip, fold it up until next year,

A handle would be nice. Well made zipper
12" is small. A handle would be nice. Well made zipper. I was looking for a bigger habitat. Will see how it does with chrysalis and butterfly emerging in it.

Perfect size and great quality. Love the side access.
Perfect size, quality product. I bought one of the cyclinder styles previously and it was difficult to get in and out of the top with the Chrysilis' and caterpillars attached to the lid. The side zipper makes it so much easier to clean and put in new butterfly bush branches. I also like the vinyl window. I need to get another one! Speedy shipping too.
