I was looking for solar lights I could hang from the drainage gutters on my house. These lights were exactly what I was looking for. They work as advertised but take the negative reviews lightly. For me these lights last from dusk to dawn with no issues. We have had several rain storms since I put them up and they are still working. In order to last all night they will need at least 8 hours of full sun to charge. I think the negative reviews on longevity are because the end-user installed them in a shaded area that does not get sufficient sunlight long enough. These are solar lights and they require full sun to charge the battery efficiently. They will charge in low light but the charge will be minimal and the performance will be poor. The manufacturer recommends charging them for a full 8 hours before using them but they work efficiently right out of the box for me.Pros:* Comes with all the required mounting hardware.* English instruction manual included.* Nice and bright (These are not spot or flood lights. They will not light up big areas. They create a 3 to 4 foot diameter circle of light from a first level gutter. Since mine are close to the exterior wall they only create a half circle).* Last from dusk to dawn on a full charge.* Easy to install.Cons:* Misleading Ad - The ad said you get a UV flashlight with you order. I did not receive one.* Misleading Ad - The pictures show the unit with two batteries. The unit only came with one battery and one battery compartment.* Ships from China - I ordered the lights on March 25, They reached customs in New York City on April 6th, and were delivered to my doorstep on April 11th. goto the empsexpress website to track.* Poorly Packed - Each of the 5 units had it's own individual box, but all the boxes were placed in a plastic bag and shipped. 3 of the 5 boxes were damaged during the trip from China, but luckly none of the units were damaged.

I ordered these to mount from our gutters to give us a little light outside our windows as a bit of added security (deterrent) on a long dark side of our home. The rest of our home has motion security lighting and this side of the home had no lights and no easily accessible electricity. Also our neighborhood was built so one side of our home is close to a neighbor and the other wide open for a ways it repeats down the street. This is the close side and I didn't want a motion light disturbing my elderly neighbor or my daughter who's bedroom windows are on that side. Just a little light along the side by the windows is all I wanted from a solar light. I ordered these and they did take a while to get here (weeks, from over seas) but came on time to the estimate they gave. They arrived in perfect condition and oddly enough two of them were on. I guess it shows how long a charge will last you. I laid them on our gas grill in the off position for a couple days and let them charge up. I then turned them on and left them on the grill for a few more days, to see how they worked. They all worked fine and cycled on and off as I would expect them to. I did notice some glowed brighter than others and arranged them in a line right to left in order of brightness and oddly enough they changed order everyday, which I cannot explain since they spent equal time in the sun. They come with a nice mount for hooking them to a gutter edge but didn't work for us since we have a special gutter guard, we had to modify them to work. As for brightness when mounted 12' up on a gutter they are not super bright but do produce an adequate light for what we need, I read the reviews and was expecting this. The units are durable and seem well made, we have had them maybe 5 months and no problems at all. The batteries are easily replaced should they fail. They are Chinese and inexpensive which is never an award winning combination, but I do feel they are well made and will give me good value for my money and I do recommend them. These are incredible. I do not work for these guys. No. I bought 5 of these, then later (this shipment) bought 5 more.This is a great price and let me tell you, that I have 6 of these mounted on the drainage gutter above my front porch and it is very bright.After several months the solar panel on top will discolor a milky white it does NOT affect their recharge or performance.I am very impressed.At first I had put 3 there and it was ok, but not what I wanted, then I placed a 4th and it was pretty good. Then I placed a 5th one and that did it!5 of these together make a porch light! They are very bright. I have these in the back yard placed every 20 feet and set to the highest sensitivity.Only downside is that about 1 in 4 lights fail right out of the box, but the others are very, very good and never give any trouble at all.
