The main problem with crochet books is that they never (or rarely) show you any of the projects. They all show the same thing - hooks, instructions, table of contents, and index. Chances are unless it’s a beginner book, you don’t need to see this stuff. You already know how to use hooks and can figure out a single crochet stitch from a double. What would be really useful is photos of the projects. While this book is listed as a skill builder, and in that respect it might be useful, there isn’t a single project that I would make - so why would I waste my time with the book if I’m not interested in any of the projects? I thought the bag shown on the cover was unattractive, but since the book had such high reviews, I did think there would at least be plenty of projects inside that would be nice; but no (sorry, but it’s how I feel). I really wish designers (or publishers) would stop showing hooks/sample stitches and show pics of what’s inside. It would save me (and probably others) money, so we could buy something else instead. Unfortunately, this book will be donated.

I purchased this for some easy projects for my daughters to learn with. It is well laid out, and has some great instruction in the beginning. I don't know if I could finish some of these in a 'day' unless I had 6 less kids etc, but they are basic and fun designs that are well thought out.

I have added this book to my collection and will work on some of the projects at later dat.

Working on a project now! The book has me working out of my comfort zone but nothing I don't have the skills to do. I just got away from honing my skills.

I have had trouble with some of the patterns and believe there are mistakes in this book! Do not recommend!

This book covers from earrings to scarves, beaded bracelets to hairpin lace.It has 30 different projects that would make great gifts while building your crochet techniques and stitches. The layout is great as there are ample pictures of each projects as well as illustrations of 'how to' stitches. The patterns are well thought out and are expressed in words and diagrams..There are assorted skill levels so everyone can enjoy this book. There are even some Tunisian crochet patterns included.This would be a great gift for almost any crocheter that has a 'stash' to work from and is looking for some fun, quick projects.I can't wait to try the mouse baby set for my god-daughters baby shower gift!I would rate this a very high 9.0 to 9.5 out of 10 - highly recommended!Full disclosure - this was dictated to me by my wife.
