Lots of stitches
The diagrams look clear and easy to follow. However all of the diagrams and examples of the stitches are in black and white which makes it harder to see what the finished pattern looks like.

101 Needlepoint Stitches and How to Use Them by Hope Hanley
This book is a terrific collection, especially if you are the kind of person who enjoys learning a few extra things here and there, whether or not you employ them actively. This is just a nice book to have, whether you know most of it or not. Thanks for making it available in a used copy for me!nancy morse

Hard to read
I was excited to get a book to learn various stitches. Unfortunately, the book is all black and white and you can’t see the stitches correctly. It would be better if it was in color.

Good basic guide
Good basic guide and I particularly like the table in the front that gives a comparison of the stitches and the advantages/cautions of each. The only way to improve this book would be to have the photos in color.

Am well pleased with the content of this book ...
Originally published in 1977 this has a lot of excellent diagrams and a huge variety of practical, pretty stitches and am well pleased with the content ... the pictures are not good, very b&W fuzzy small pics, but the diagrams and clarifications more than make up for them ...

Good material, unfortunately, with poor quality images
In hindsight I should have read the reviews and paid more attention to the interior pages. It's basically a reprint but no updated photos. The images are all black and white and not very good quality. It's a bit hard to discern what the stitch actually looks like. It is very thorough and a good book otherwise. If the pictures were in colour, I'd have given it 5 stars easily.

The book is well presented with clear instructions and diagrams. Lots of basic stitches are explained. I have already used some stitches from it. Very pleased.
