Interesting patterns
Very interesting designs if you like this sort of thing. I am not totally thrilled with some of the charts but this is still a good addition to my library.

Nice book.
Exactly as described. Would buy from again.

Good publication
Although the designs appear to be authentic, it would be helpful if there were color illustrations of at least some of the designs.

A worth while purchase
This book has many different designs available. The designs can be a bit small, and a bit difficult to read. I highly recommend taking these charts and enlarging them before starting work on them. There are a great variety in designs, some will take a while to complete, while others can be completed in much less time.

Not A Lot Of Variety
It is a nice booklet and is easy to understand however there isn't a lot of variety of patterns. Several patterns have the same shapes or similar shapes. It did have what I needed but I was kind of hoping for a wider variety of patterns.

Nice source book
I wanted to try some needlework designs in the Celtic tradition and this is a good resource.

Perfect
Just what I had hoped for. Charts are small but easy to enlarge with printers or copiers.

Advanced embroidery
This book is for those that understand stitchery with ease. The designs are really good to use with anything, even making bookmarks. This book is for the advanced cross stitcher, or embroiderer.

Unfortunately, this is one of those books that is probably better in a hard copy printed book than a digital one.Due to screen resolution of kindle images are not as clear as I would like.Page breaks also split designs and makes it hard to follow the instructions.Overall a disappointing experience.A good resource as far as subject it covers, but not as useful as it could have been due to being in the digital format.

Disappointing selection of designs
I am writing this review with "Celtic Animals Charted Designs" & "Celtic Charted Designs" side by side, trying to decide why the former is so much less appealing. I think it is because of its concentration on very large, somewhat obscure designs. I had hoped for plenty of smaller designs rather than huge works of art intended for fire screens & cushion covers. In fact, I can't understand why anyone would be motivated to start on a large, complex work without seeing a colour reproduction first. Yes, the colours are listed here but poor-quality black-and-white charts are no substitute for a colour picture where crafts are concerned. Dover publications are modestly-produced books, excellent for giving you many different ideas for borders, themes etc. to be incorporated into larger works, & in this respect they can still hold their own in the age of the Internet. "Celtic Animals Charted Designs", however, (published 20yrs ago) took an approach which now seems rather dated & irrelevant.

great patterns
There are some excellent patterns and I love that the author has included the source for them (they are authentic). I also love that the patterns are charted and can be used for embroidery, but also knitting and crochet. I am anxious to try them in different media to compare them.
