Pimpernel Exotic Botanic Garden Placemats - Set of 4

these are great placemats. i had a similar set (same company different print) for years that were holding up really well, except i had been a little too vigorous with the exacto-knife when opening the package, and accidentally cut through the packaging and scratched one of the mats; i covered it up for a while with a sharpie, but eventually it started peeling at the edges so i ordered these. (opened the box more carefully this time...)they are much sturdier than most placemats; the cork provides heat insulation to keep hot plates from damaging my table, and they don't slip and slide as much as other mats. because they are slightly smaller than other mats and more solid, they can be left on the table in btwn meals without looking shabby.they are easy to wipe clean, though certain things will stain them if left for too long. one of mine has a faint ring i havent figured out how to remove from a coffee cup forgotten overnight.

These placemats are so pretty that they made me happy every time I looked at them. Soon after, I realized the edges weren't sealed as well as they should have been when some liquid got under one of the mats and discolored it. That should not have happened as they've been gently used only by my husband and me. It could have been a fluke. I would have tried another set but Amazon said it was too late. I didn't want to spend the money to find out if all mats are improperly sealed.

I have used pimpernel placemats for years. The last set I had lasted for over 10 years - stayed in perfect shape except for a couple of nicks which were my fault. I decided to replace them with this set and was terribly disappointed. Just within a couple of weeks of use, moisture seeped in on the edges and now there are water stains. The mats were never submerged in water, just wiped clean with damp cloth. I don't even know how the moisture stains got there. Similar thing happened to another pimpernel set.It appears that the pimpernel quality has gone down significantly. I give 2 stars because the artwork is still beautiful, but it really deserves 1 star because no matter how pretty the art, if the mat becomes stained so quickly with careful use, it isn't good at all.

I love these table mats.They are sturdier than the ones I have bought from other brands and sources. They have a smooth feeling about them, easy to clean and maintain and their floral design is absolutely beautiful. They are a bit on the expensive side but I am satisfied with their quality. I shall buy another set so I have enough for guests.I have bought these place mats in April and I was very pleased with their look and sturdiness. Since then, unfortunately, I have changed my opinion. There is , I think, a loose connection between the body of the mat and the outer layer where the design is because, under the top layer many stains form( no way to get them out) and, in a short time the mat looks spotted and worn out. I would not buy them again. Oct. 2016

Placemats are sturdy beautiful images look great on kitchen table. Not happy with the fact 2 out of 4 of the placemats had small chips ( size of pencil eraser) on the corners.

I loved these so much I reordered them after a year and a half of very hard use in the kitchen. My daughter bought some for her apartment too!

Came on time, exactly as described. I like these placemats cause they can be easily wiped off, and are really pretty.

Ho comperato le tovagliette Pimpernel perché le aveva mia figlia e quindi conoscevo la robustezza e la praticità. Le mie le ho comperate per la casa del mare quindi sono ancora intatte ma se durano quanto sono durate quelle di mia figlia sono più che soddisfatta

Sono 4 tovagliette monoposto di ottima qualità in sughero rivestito di un laminato plastico rigido. Bellissime e resistenti, le ho ricomprate da poco dopo che le precedenti si sono rovinate dopo un uso quasi ventennale! Il disegno portmairion è delizioso e molto classico. Consigliate!!

Le tovagliette, proprio come le altre di Pimpernel che avevo acquistato, sembrano robuste e ben fatte. La dimensione è giusta (il lato lungo è di 40 cm) e il pattern botanico è bellissimo. Il prezzo è decisamente ottimo.

Li uso per apparecchiare la tavola quotidianamente

Acquistate all'ultimo per il compleanno della nonna, poichè nei negozi non ne avevano di belle. Sono arrivate in un giorno, sono di ottima fattura e bellissime dal punto di vista estetico. Consigliatissime per tutte le persone che amano le tovagliette americane !
