Fluidmaster PRO45C Fill Valve

I am not a handy person but I was able to remove my broken Fill Valve and replace with this one. It's been a few months now and I've had no problems. It was somewhat easy to put together. I will admit I had to watch a video on YouTube because I got a little confused with the instruction. My water bill is lower due to the Fill Valve not leaking and wasting water. I can also sleep better at night not having to hear the broken Fill Value "running". I give this product a thumbs up and will definitely recommend to friends and family. I will also purchase again if needed.

This valve resolved my toilet water hammer issue. My water pressure is 60 PSI. First tried partially closing the toilet fill line valve, but this resulted in water noise from the valve. Next tried a water hammer arrestor on the fill line, but it was not effective. Then tried this fill valve, and it resolved my toilet water hammer issue. We still have a little water hammer, but it is reduced to what we consider an acceptable level. It took me around 15 minutes to install.

Have ordered these on 7 different occasions and several at a time. Product is great and step above what you buy in the stores. Ordered four last week and all four missing the same parts: the gasket, nut and hose clip that is shown in top left picture on product description. Ordered four more that arrived today and all four missing the same parts. Reused the old gasket and nut and have water dripping on a new floor. Come on Fluidmaster, need to step up the quality control! All boxes were sealed so it appears to be a factory issue.

Product pro 45c came with missing parts required for installation. The kit shown in example is not what I received. The kit came with locknut, rubber hose, filler clip, and valve. Missing shank washer.

The fill valve is excellent and easy to install. The flapper went straight into the trash. Do not waste you money on the flapper, buy a different one separately. The flapper is flimsy and cheap.

I purchased two of these to replace old fill valves and flappers in leaking toilets. This model was used by a plumber when we had another repair in a different bathroom and it works well in our toilet model. I installed both valves and they seem to be working fine. However, the kit was supposed to include a new rubber gasket / washer for seating the fill valve inside the toilet, a new plastic nut for securing the fill valve to the bottom of the toilet, and a new hose clip for the refill tube. These parts were missing from both kits that I received so I had to reuse the existing parts from the old units. Then there seemed to be a leak from one of the old rubber washers so I had to find a replacement and reinstall that one. I would have returned these based on the missing parts but I did not want to stop in the middle of the repair and then do it all again next weekend.

The fill valve seems to be an OK product. Time will tell about its reliability. However the tank flapper stopper is a terrible, cheap, poorly performing piece. It is so light and flimsy that it will not close off the water out-flow until the tank is empty. The previous one, which I assume was the original Kohler unit, had a sturdy flapper with an adjustable float attached to the chain so that one could adjust the amount of outflow so as to provide an adequate flush without wasting a lot of water like the current one does.
