Codex Seraphinianus Deluxe Ed: 40th Anniversary Edition

Comparing this to the previous edition:Cons - When removing that lower 40th Anni. slip cover piece, it brought with it some of the image from the cover. Just a bit, but enough so that it's apparent this printing is not as steadfast as the prior. The grooves in the pages feel a bit less deep, I could he wrong here.ProsThe print within the book is sharper and what I can only imagine to be truer to the original drawings. This, luckily, allows us to see the entire book in a whole new light... the vibrancy, the detail, it's all a much higher quality than the previous edition. The weight feels considerably more. The added "plates" (pages of drawings) are an AMAZING edition, they are very fun and have a unique thing going for one particular set. I noticed there was some new details that are not as apparent as the illustrations & some "text" is changed up in the beginning, assumingly to designate this new edition. I notice there are 3 "kings" on the spine, I wonder if this designates Ed. #3?As an avid admirer of all things Luigi Serafini, I highly recommend this new edition as a first time buyer or as an added edition to your already stocked serafini shelf section. ;)

First of all the book itself is really cool. But when I got the book the cover was damaged. The little insects on the cover are raised by design. But ether the way its stored or the printing proses itself, the bumps look like they were sanded down. I ordered a replacement and the cover looked fine. But as I removed the 40th Anniversary jacket it was stuck to the cover. And when I tried to remove it I peeled off the insects color along with it. Really disappointing. Also some of the pages were kinda folded on the outer pages. This issue was present in both copies I got. I recommend the book but not this print. They really need to fix these quality control issues.

I've been waitingnto get my hands on this book for ages. But when I got it in the mail. I didn't notice at first. But all the pages slightly bow towards the middle. and it's not a huge problem. But I'm upset that I paid almost 140$ and I got wrapped Pages. if it wasn't for that I would give it 5 stars

The media could not be loaded.  The Book is a modern day voynich manuscript, but with real origins. The entire book's purpose is to make you feel like a child opening a encyclopedia with pictures. 10/10 Would want to see some weird book again.

Magico, hermoso, una verdadera vivencia

This book exceeded my daughters expectations! This was all she wanted for her 21st birthday. It made her so happy to open it and see the illustration and read all the details.

Love it! One of the best "artifacts" I have. A huge thought-starter, exciter and just a fun thing!

La qualité de l’édition est indiscutable. Un papier manille de très bonne qualité donne un merveilleux corps à l’ouvrage. J’ai hésité beaucoup avant d’acheter cette version, je ne suis pas déçu.

Livre très intrigant

Excellent livre pour imaginer un monde parallèle. Très belles illustrations. Me replonge dans mon bas-âge où il fallait imaginer l'histoire que racontait le livre tout en ne sachant pas lire
