great product, works well, could use a few features
great product. it works just as advertised. a lot of adjustments can be made, and the smartphone app can make all of them remotely, its super convenient. only a few minor things that i believe could be made better. 1. while the device WILL connect to google home and register as a device, google home has litterally no control over it, or ability to tell what the temperature is. since you can just use the inkbird app (or tuya app) this is really a nonissue. just a suggestion really. 2. the increments of time are quite broad. its not possible to have it log the temperature every minute in history, i believe it only logs every 15 minutes. IT DOES REPORT LIVE AND CONSTANTLY, UPDATING IN MERE SECONDS VIA LIVE VIEW IN THE APP, it is constantly updating and providing a realtime temperature in the app however it only logs the temperature and stores it once every 15 minutes. if it could be changed to log temperature every minute as an option that would be useful. again just a suggestion. its not really that helpful for anything, i just like to see everything going on. 3. upon changing any settings on the temperature controller it automaticly assumes that it needs to start either A cooling or B heating if the temperature isnt exactly what the set temperature is at. also sort of a non issue since once it reaches the temperature it reverts to normal operation, meaning the temperature differential, or the setting that adjusts how far from the set temperature it can change before enabling or disabling the cooling or heating system, once temperature is reached after setting a setting in the app or on the controller, works perfectly fine. however if you just want to adjust it so it 1 degree higher in the cooling differential, if you adjust it so it has a 5 degree cooling deviation instead of four, if the temperature is, lets say 78 instead of 75, although its only a 3 degree difference, since you just set the setting it automatically assumes that the temperature needs to be adjusted until it is at the correct temperature before starting operation normally. (just being clear) this is a setting i would want to have an adjustment on. like "restart device upon changing settings? yes or no" then if no is selected, when temperatures are changed if its still within range itll turn off. an example of how this would be useful is if you wanted to adjust the cooling differential higher so the cooling switch turns off, it will ironically turn it on upon making the change, which will immediately have the opposite effect as intended, until it reaches the set temperature, then will use the input settings and resume normal operation. this is the only issue i could see potentially being problematic if you have this placed somewhere with frequent power fluctuations, because when the device restarts it also does just this. checks the temperature and then goes "is it the exact set temperature? no because its off by .1? turn on the heating or cooling." again, just a small pet peeve, not a major issue, but this could be problematic as a UPS battery backup would likely not be able to power any real kind of cooling device and a high power relay of some sort would have to be used to allow power for any high consumption devices to be drawn from elsewhere and the temperature controller to be the only thing drawing power from the ups. that way when the power returns on the temperature sensor never turned off and does not restart. overall i woudl give 4.5 stars if i could because realisticly this is the only product on the market with these features in general, the features being wifi connectivity and the ability to just plug whatever you want into the controller and control both heating and cooling from the same device, as to save power. just my two cents :)

Simple to use (program) and does the job
Works great, easy to setup and use. configurable for 'F or 'C. I like the separate AC outlets on a dongle, but I wonder about the maximum load current capacity of the wiring. I've got a couple 200 watt grow lights and a 600/1500 watt space heater I run to grow tomatoes indoors during the winter. These would overload. I had been using a combo timer/switch with temperature control but after a few months this heavy load killed it. That worked for a while and then it's dinky power switch (relay) quit. So I found this Inkbird and ordered one. I'm sure it would do the job -for a while. As soon as I got it I noticed its quality. So I opened it up. It was an easy do. These days you can tell quality simply by seeing electronic components that have their markings still on the chips. -china removes these markings, but Taiwan and others do not. The Inkbird had all its markings and actually uses a rather powerful microprocessor to facilitate the control process. It remembers its settings when power off and that is an important feature. Very well. Since the last gadget died because of its relay failure, I decided to amp this up a bit. [pun intended] When your crop is dependent on not freezing to death -I hate failures. so.. The Inkbird uses a pair of relays -one for cooling and one for heating. These are separate from each other and rated for 15 amp 120 volt loading. Again, for a while... relays suffer horribly short lives when loaded to the max and cycling on/off many times as a thermostat will do. Then my epiphany.. A trick I use, is to construct a plug-in service box wired with 20 amp 120V grounded sockets, and with a solid-state relay, capable of at least 20 amps AC at 120V. I also use a 16 gage [or more] 3 wire power cord into this box. For extra credit, I use an expensive 'zero-crossing' type solid state switch (SSR). These run a bit hot when powering a 15+ Amp load so I add a big heat sink to the 'SSR' to help extend its life. This type of SSR uses a DC control (one/off) voltage between 3 and 35Vdc, so I add a small 12VDC wall-wart to switch the SSR, and let the Inkbird only power the wall-wart which in turn operates the SSR, which is very low wattage and thus a very light load on the relays inside the Inkbird. Note that this SSR box will operate a window AC as well. Add one of those Kill-A-Watt monitors and you can track the voltage, power and expense of your rig.

Great controller
I have a couple of these ink bird controllers on my aquariums. They're easy to set up, accurate, and they work great.

Works as advertised.
I bought this for my 110 gallon mixed reef tank because I thought it would be a good idea to have a backup in place just in case of the unlikely event my apex controller just didn’t work correctly. An extra layer of protection seemed worthwhile and I thought using the inkbird power outlet would keep the apex from flipping the outlet on and off so often. It works fine and does its job as advertised. It was easy to set up and connect to wifi and adjust using an app on your phone so you can see the temp and adjust it from anywhere. The controller has a readout of the current temp and can adjust the set value up and down by 1 degree. I have ended up removing it from my system and no longer use it because it had more variation than I liked. I had better precision control on temp using the apex only and kept rock steady temp with .1 degree variance and with the inkbird I couldn’t get much lower than .5 degrees variance. This is fine and wouldn’t be a problem but for corals I want the least possible variation even if it’s overkill. The product is good and works as advertised, just be aware you’re not going to be able to dial it in to get less than .5 degree variance, which is great for 99% of people.

Easy to use, clear instructions that are easy to understand. Works well. Product came dusty
Works good so far. Time will tell but it seems like a great product. It was a little dirty/dusty but nothing disgusting I couldn't clean real quick. 4.5 stars if I could rate that

Perfect solution for an expensive problem.
My waterbed heater decided to ignore the thermostat and the water was 107 degrees! It's over 40 years old, however. The cost of replacement was astronomical. All I needed was a thermostat (controller!). This one works perfectly, just plug it into the wall outlet and plug the heater into the controller outlet plug, and slide the sensor under the mattress. Temp. is now set at 90 degrees, and that is perfectly controlled, for 1/5th the cost of a new heater! Problem $olved!

Great functional thermostat
Keeps our bird warm and happy. Functional and programmable. I appreciate the alarm for extended out side of temp zones, had it save our butt at least once. Nice that it works for both heating and cooling. Has proved itself trustworthy. I'll probably get another for the plants at soke point.

Excellent for 3D printing
I had the non-wifi version of this for years to control a heater/exhaust fan combo on my 3D printer enclosure in order to maintain temperature, and it worked great, the only reason i bought this now was because i wanted to see the temp on my phone (the old one still works). I don't use it that often, so i can't speak to how long it'll run under heavy use, but for 3D printing, this thing is great. It took a few tries to get it to set up in the app, but once it did, it controls and updates the device quickly. It's smart without being too smart, the wifi is just for convivence, not a requirement. If you're looking to control the temp for 3D printing, i can't recommend this enough.
