it's a tarp with 2 poles. no directions. it's fine but nothing to write home about. I thnk i'd just use a basic blue tarp instead and use a rope to hang it. The poles can be useful but I found them both too short for the one situation where we needed it. I improvised and used a log and a cooler but I just think for the price, I'd probably not buy it again. Tarp material is thinner than your standard blue tarp but held up in the one situation where we used it.

Works good in back yard but hard to set up on windy beach

I think we are going to get a lot of use out of this sun shade canopy when we are camping this year. We live in the South, and it gets really HOT during the summer months. We absolutely could have used something like this the last time we ventured out. We camp with my daughter's family and the three grandkids. This will be great for setting up an area to put chairs under and stay in the shade during the heat of the day. Pretty sure we could use this to cover one of the smaller tents if we needed to as well. No instructions come with this item, but if you get back online and look at the pictures and reviews, you can figure it out pretty quick. The fabric feels quite nice, and I'm sure it will last for quite some time. The sewing is done well, and there were no missed seams or hanging threads on the canopy. I think this would also work well to shade an area when my husband is working on a project outside too. It would help keep dust and dirt from falling out of trees as well as shade him from the sun. The canopy comes with a bag to keep everything in, and it includes two poles, guy lines and tent stakes. You can also use extra ropes, and secure it from trees to protect you when you are taking a siesta in a hammock too (I know this from personal experience!)
