S&BFilters 75-5083 Cold Air Intake for 2015-2017 Ford F-150 5.0L (Oiled Cleanable, 8-ply Cotton Filter)

The installation is easy, the hardest part being getting the filter on the end of the intake tube while it's in the filter box. It helps to tighten down the intake tube at the throttle body so you have something to push back against. I believe someone else commented on spraying some WD-40 on the end of the tube, but I didn't have any handy at the time, so it took elbow-grease and patience.As for the performance, when I first installed my SIDO exhaust system using larger pipes, I noticed a throttle lag when I first step on the gas. The S&B Intake seems to have eliminated that lag. I attribute that to increasing the air flow in, to match the increased 'air flow out' provided by the upgraded exhaust. I didn't and don't play to get it dyno'd, so I don't know whether there's a HP increase, but there's definitely a difference in "drive-ability".As for mileage, the day after installing the S&B I took a 500 mile trip. Granted it's only 1 trip, but I observed the highest mileage I've seen yet on my truck in its current configuration (new AT tires). I'm currently waiting to see how it affects my 'around town' mileage.I didn't notice any increase in sound coming from the engine bay. I believe the exhaust sounds just a tad better, but that may also be an effect caused by yet another investment into my truck. :)

Wanted a sealed CAI. Have had AIRAID, Volant, & K&N on my last 3 F150s. S&B was not widely available way back when I had my first truck. Finally took the plunge and ordered my '18 F150 this dry filter assembly. Having watched enough how-to videos, felt confident enough to complete the whole install in 30 min. Suffice to say it took me a couple hours due to a bunch of unanticipated adjustments from manipulating the filter into the airbox to "massaging" the intake tube to fit into the coupling, to taking a hose clamp off the oem assembly to tighten down the outer coupling to the intake tube. Extra time to complete the install to my satisfaction was well worth it!!! And contrary to popular theory; if you want to "break-in" your intake, don't let it idle! Take it out on a drive and put the computer to work to immediately "learn" your real world driving conditions. Immediate improvement to throttle response. I do appreciate the little to no in cab drone and like how it wakes up the 5.0 when you stomp on it.

I really like this cold air intake. I bought it for my 2015 F150 5.0 and it works like a charm. I actually like it better than the roush intake I had on my previous 2012 F150 5.0. This intake is not nearly as loud as the roush, which I prefer, but if you want it to be loud you can remove the plexiglass cover over the filter. I prefer the cover because it keeps the filter from sucking hot air coming off of the engine and limits the intake of air coming in from the location it should be coming from, the very front of the engine compartment where fresh outside air is sucked into the engine.

It’s an awesome looking system no doubt. I didn’t notice any real sound change from the exhaust or any real fuel mileage increase as I was hoping. I am a little concerned about how to remove the filter to clean it after it’s installed. You have to place the filter in the housing before you connect everything. I believe you have to disconnect the tube that attaches at the throttle body, then slide the tube out of the filter housing to get the filter back out. With all of the breather hoses that need to be disconnected and such, I believe it is going to be a pain just to clean the filter. I bought a prefilter from S&B # WF-1058 (available on Amazon) just to put off the cleaning as long as possible. Had I known it was going to be such a pain to clean the filter, I probably would have chosen another brand.

Bolts up and installs easily on my 2017 F-150 w/ 5.0 liter engine. Not a big difference in sound of engine, but it has help throttle response. Added a Corsa exhaust a week after this S&B was installed and really like the way they complement each other.*Be sure to disconnect the neg. battery cable before the install or you might get CEL (Check Engine Light) upon start up. Once you start it up let it idle for 10 minutes so PCM can relearn proper idle.

Installed on 2015 F150 Platinum 5.0 very easy to install and nostive better throttle response and acceleration as well. Too early to tell about miliage yet.

I noticed an immediate increase in hp or throttle response plus sound and when driven normally an increase in gas mileage too. Well worth the money, quality product and installation was fairly simple.

This thing is a beast. I like the engine rumble and does seem to do a decent job. Fits well and install was easy. Window is too small and replacing filter is finicky.

Great fit easy install, the trick on You Tube about using WD 40 to fit the tube into the airbox coupler is a definite plus.
