## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it vegan?**
A: The seller answered the question perfectly and subsequently Katie put it into additional perspective. To help clear this up using another perspective: There may be two questions being asked here. #1: Can science find any measurable trace(s) of animal 'products' and #2: Were animal 'products' used in any step of production? #1 is more of a scientific question and #2 is more of a moral/ethical/spiritual question. Therefore, although the definition of "Vegan" can vary, hopefully the answers to your questions from the seller, Katie, and I will help you make an informed decision. Cheers!

**Q: What exactly is the 'natural thickener'?**
A: I would guess the "natural thickener" is carrageenan.
Carrageenans or carrageenins are a family of linear sulfated polysaccharides that are extracted from red edible seaweeds. They are widely used in the food industry, for their gelling, thickening, and stabilizing properties. Wikipedia

**Q: Is this grainy at all, I'm looking to add some grit to my vanilla ice cream.**
A: Yes it's like when you buy vanilla bean ice cream and you see the little specks of vanilla in it. It adds a lot more flavor than liquid vanilla does. Hope this helps!

**Q: how many teaspoons are in the jar?**
A: Hi there, there are 12 teaspoons or the equivalent of 12 vanilla beans in each 2.29 oz jar.
