Keeping my patio free of bugs.
I actually bought 2 of them and they are doing a wonderful job of keeping my patio free of bugs. They are very quiet and are attractive. I have them hanging on hooks.

Works exactly as described
Bought this fly trap like many others to help rid our house of annoying flying bugs. We live in Florida & during the summer months there's tons of flies, noseeums, and mosquitoes. We purchased one to start off with, but we will definitely be purchasing more. This little gadget definitely works.

Surprisingly quiet, definitely attracts bugs.
The trap definitely attracts moths and mosquitos. It is pretty expensive though. The fan is whisper quiet. The only thing it doesn't seem to catch is houseflies, though the decaying corpses caught in the trap still attract them to the exterior.Overall, we've seen a notable drop in mosquito population since installing it a few weeks ago.

More effective at trapping your dollar bills then your mosquitoes!
I purchased this product primarily for my mosquito and wasp problem neither of which it had any effect on. I saw no change whatsoever in mosquito activity both in our patio area and in the yard. I actually got stung by a wasp just 15 feet away from it. I know it can't catch everything but it didn't catch a single fly or wasp. If you're after moths then you will love it as that is primarily what I saw when I removed the basket to clean it. Also, their proprietary light bulb burned out only after 8 weeks of use and costs $15 to replace. To me that smacks of “revenue stream” and to say this thing will cover 1/2 acre half area is a vast overstatement. In fact I would call that downright false advertising. I contacted Dynatrap directly with my grievances and all they did was reply with some tips that are all included in the manual that came with it and didn't even mention the premature lightbulb failure. They said they will only refund money within a 30 day period. Concerning the lack of effectiveness with regards to mosquitoes they stated “Once you put the Dynatrap out, it will take about 3 weeks before it has any impact on the mosquito population, since that’s about how long it takes for mosquito eggs to hatch, and 6 weeks to break the life cycle. Interesting how you have to do keep this thing past when the refund window has closed to know if it has a chance of working! To me that says loud and clear, SCAM!!!

It worked great for two months and then it didn't
It worked great for two months. The bulb was very dim compared to the identical unit that my neighbor installed but between the two of them they got the job done. Gradually, after much less than the 3,000 hours stated, the mosquitos returned with a vengeance. I ordered the wrong bulb from Amazon first and have to return it and lose $7 shipping. On the second try I got the right bulb and installed it. The bulb would not light up? Frustrated, I took the unit down and was going to return it to Amazon. In the garage I plugged it in one more time and the new bulb lit up? I installed the old bulb and it did not light up until I unplugged it and then plugged into the wall again. It then lit dimly. After unplugging and installing the new bulb it works again. I hope... Stay tuned.Bottom line- the device works great but the bulbs don't perform as stated. Expect to replace them at $12 a pop several times duringmosquito season and don't forget to unplug it and replug it after installing the new bulb.UPDATE- The replacement bulb worked for a week or two. Now I am back to swatting mosquitos. Buyer beware!

Decent results first few night, big results after a week and a half
I seldom write reviews but it’s worth mentioning. I was hesitant about this product due to the price, but the reviews re-assured me. I set this thing up and almost every morning I would check the trap to see how effective it was. The first few nights weren’t anything impressive. Maybe a dozen mosquitos or so, which for my area could’ve just been a couple of poor guys that happened to fly too close to the trap. I figured it was atleast doing something, so I left it up and continued to check the trap daily. PRO TIP: put the trap in the freezer for 10 minutes before opening to prevent the surviving insects from flying back out. So, this morning I go to check the trap after it’s been out for about a week and a half and there were TONS of mosquitos in there. More than any other day by at least 10x. It’s possible there was a recent population surge which naturally resulted in more mosquitos in the trap, but at least there’s a few hundred less of these creatures in my backyard. Very happy with the purchase after seeing the trap this morning.Side note, I put all the bugs I catch in a ziplock baggie and put it in the freezer. Later I mix them in with some chicken feed in attempts to get my birds to develop a taste for the little bloodsuckers.
