The 100: The Complete Third Season (DVD)
F**S
LOVE THIS SHOW- with a few minor bumps! (with a few comments about the uproar this season)
Fantastic series, and season 3 has been incredible, (with a few bumps along the way).Season 3 started off with a bang, and kept me on the edge of my seat every episode of the way. If anything, I wish they would take a breath, slow down, and develop plots a little better. Unfortunately, only having 16 episodes in a season makes them have to cut a lot of information out that would have made many of the plots this season make more sense. IMHO, if I was the writers, I would just slow down a little and keep the information in the storyline so that things like Pikes ascent to power, Bellamy's move to the dark side, and many other things would make more sense. I heard several interviews with the cast, and they repeatedly said that a lot of information was left on the cutting floor that would have made much of these storylines make sense. That being said, I am still NOT happy with some of the characters being killed off (read Lexa), because I thought she added so much to the show. She was absolutely my favorite character and I was hoping upon hope that there was some way she would return, but I realize that won't happen. What people seem to not understand is that she was offered a huge opportunity on "Fear of the walking Dead" and was not going to be available for more than the 7 episodes she was in. Granted, I didn't like that she was killed by a stray bullet and wish that could have been done better as she was such an incredible character and will be so greatly missed, but facts are facts and she is not coming back because she was given what SHE apparently believed to be a great opportunity. She will be missed! This brings me to this.........I am getting so tired of seeing people down vote season 3 episodes on IMDB and here on AMAZON and iTunes as a 1 star JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE UPSET ABOUT THAT, and then brag that they don't even watch the show anymore... Seriously??? Come on people. I understood it right after the episode aired, but months later???? People are making it seem that this show is bigoted and against LGBT and minority characters. Well, if that is so, what about ALL the other characters on this show that are LGBT or minorities....do they not count? Also, If a large population of your show is all colors, shapes and sizes, etc...when you kill someone off, who do you think will be killed? Obviously it will be one of these people. Its a TV show that has quite a few minorities and LGBT characters on, with the LEAD star being a Bi character. As for the darkness of the show- yes it has definitely become very dark this season - I saw an interview with JR who said that the CW specifically told him to make the show darker and darker. So what's the guy supposed to do if he wants his show to stay on the CW?This season has had some unfortunate bumps in the road, but all in all it has still been a great season, and I will continue to watch and enjoy this show, (while continuing to morn Lexa-yes, I am still mourning Lexa!).Its come a long way from season one, when it seemed like a "Beverly Hills teenage 90210 sci-fi". It appeared to start out for younger audiences, but definitely should appeal now to a much wider audience.I can't wait to see what season 4 brings. I am hoping Luna comes back- I am hoping they finish with the Allie story and go back to the roots with the grounders, but regardless, I will continue to watch. If you don't like the show any more, then don't watch it, but then stop going to IMDB when you no longer watch the show and purposely down-vote the show to a 1, and stop with all the attempts to get Netflix to stop carrying the show, and trying to get sponsors to pull out of the show. Other people still like to watch the show. If you don't like it, stop watching it. Thats what I do when I don't like where a show is going, or if I no longer like a show! Let's try to act like adults. That said, I can hardly wait till season 4 comes!

No Spoilers! Review of 100 (not just season 3)
***NO SPOILERS*** The 100: Season 3 I will soon be caught up with all that has been released thus far and will be anxiously awaiting more. weekly.I thought that this was going to be just another teen-drama type show with sexy people everywhere, but it surprised me. Season One is pretty much a great beginning novum that gets you hooked on a world that only gets bigger and bigger; as you realize how little the creators/writers are willing to show you right away, instead of being mad, you can appreciate it. Also, it's not necessarily for the faint of heart. It's not quite as bad as George R.R. Martin, but very few characters, if any, seem to be "sacred" (as in can't die).If there is an overarching theme it is this: heavy is the head that wears the crown. Leadership is hard work and a good leader can't please everyone. The show does an excellent job of driving this point home. The second theme is: justice. I won't say much more beyond that because it could lead to some spoiler thoughts, but let's just say that not everyone has the same sense of right and wrong, or justice: see the leadership theme relating to not being able to please everyone.Overall, the CW put together some high quality stuff, but I had fairly low expectations going in... and I am a bit of a sucker for sci-fi... I would probably classify this more as a drama with a tinge of suspense to go with the "war" feeling that the show seems to take on rather quickly. The acting is mostly good, but because there are teenagers involved (inevitably, not just because they're eye candy), they can get annoying at times. Teenagers do, however, have an opportunity to show a wide range of emotions and make poor decisions which makes for excellent television. I mostly LOVE the few main characters, mostly. But like I said, a lot of them are teens. As usual, I'd suggest buying the non-HD version because that extra few dollars adds up over time when buying lots of content; that and formats are always just going to get bettter. They don't currently offer a "4k" version that I have figured out how to purchase, so, go figure? Maybe HD still is king? But... I couldn't help myself and splurged on the HD version and I don't regret it one bit.

The 100: Season Three
I was so surprised there even is a Season Three of the 100. I had resigned myself to the last episode of Season Two where Murphy went into a Lighthouse while Jaha, walked into a Mansion in the City of Light and met a deceptive & murderous female Artificial Intelligence.Jaha falls under the power of the bad A. I. He goes back to the settlement and attempts to convert and entrap people to the will of the bad A.I.Raven, who piloted the patched together escape pod to earth for Abby, seeking escape from pain is subjugated to Jaha's evil A.I. Clarke is on the run from everyone. She is dealing with the betrayal and deaths that happened at Mt. Weather because the Grounder Leader made a deal with the Mt. Weather people. There is a Grounder clan that surfaces in Season Three that has never been heard of before. They also want to get a hold of Clarke badly. They are power hungry and ambitious with a Queen of their own. A group of survivors from the Ark find their way to the settlement.Pike, the 'Earth Survival Class' Instructor from the Ark, wins an election and becomes the new chancellor of the settlement. Pike intends to genocide the Grounders. He blames them directly for any survivors who died in his group before they reached the safety of the settlement. His tyranny almost causes the destruction of all of the former Ark residents who now inhabit the new settlement on Earth. Kane, Abby and others form a resistance group and attempt to take him out.In Season Three we find out there is a good AI. She has no separate physical appearance like former Chancellor Jaha's bad artificial intelligence woman. She has always helped the Grounder's and is a chip inserted into the female leader of the Grounders as she assumes power.

Disappointing
A bit disappointing in that instead of developing the extremely interesting characters of the first two seasons, such as that of Lincoln and Lexa, the producers chose to simply do away with them, opting for a ridiculously weak and superfluous plot. Even a character as complex as Pike was just flattened to a mere moronic psychopath. The thought provoking concept of difficult choices, which override the universally excepted morality of a society, that faces the imminent danger of extinction, were turned into a blood thirsty caricature. It is sad that humanity; what we would refer to as the innate human nature of exceptance, cooperation, understanding, empathy and so forth, is still regarded as a soapy melodrama by producers. Stereotypically always opting for the easy gore plot of mayhem and destruction instead of the much more difficult but far more rewarding and educating exploration of human nature in all its multifaceted complexity

Dirt under the finger nails!!! :o
Getting more and more brutal with each season! I've always had a fondness for this show because usually with all the "beautiful people" they never like to get them dirty or injured but this shows the full effects of living in dirt and getting their behinds kicked! Dirt under the finger nails and battle scars are all on show! I can see it going a bit nuts but that can only be a good thing!

Watch it - now. From the beggining though (come on)
Love this show. Constantly surprising, doesn't take prisoners. About as strong as a 'Mainstream' show can be...
