Can't wait for last book in series!
Wow, what a ride. Although it got bogged down in repetition some times and the plot gets a bit hard to follow, the story generally kept moving things along pretty well. I LOVE Dean and hope that we can finally get some more heart-wrenching romance from him before the end of the book that demonstrates his love more fully to Cyrene (and causes that funny feeling in the stomachs of readers). I also love Kael but because he is the bad boy contrast to Dean -- dark and broody and yet vulnerable when it comes to Cyrene...and who hasn't fallen for a bad boy at least once in our lives? But he has crossed the line now and is not redeemable, so I hope he and Dean clash in a big powerful way as they each try to "win" Cyrene. (BTW -- what happened to the "commander" who Cyrene also developed the hots for? Is he coming back to also introduce some added romantic conflict? If not, then why portray him that way?) Also, as we know this author has written some steamier stuff in more adult books, can she add in some more steam without getting too graphic? Example: when Dean and Cyrene finally demonstrate their love physically, I practically missed it because it was so downplayed as to be only a sentence or two. It is a pivotal event in their relationship and sets the next set of events into motion; why was it practically hidden? This is a romance adventure after all. Give us some steam!! There is more steam in Cyrene's scenes with Kael than Dean. Give me more Dean please??Good mind boggle at the end of the book with Ahlvie. Didn't see that coming!I can't believe I have to wait until this fall to find out how this ends....

Packed full of adventure, twists and turns, and dragons!
I’ve taken a break from reading over the last several months, so I’m behind on reading new releases from some of my favorite authors. Well...I’m finally here to share that author K.A. Linde has exceeded my wildest expectations with the fourth novel of her Ascension series! The Society was everything I had hoped for but didn’t know I needed from a novel about DRAGONS! By far the best novel to this point in the series, The Society is packed full of adventure in a new land named Alandria. Linde’s world building is vivid and intriguing, where she introduces lots of new interesting characters. I’m BEYOND excited about her announcement of her new fantasy series that is coming in 2020!!I am one of the very few readers who love and have held out hope for the series “bad boy,” Kael Dremylon. I haven’t completely given up hope yet....I want to offer my congratulations to author K.A. Linde on another beautifully-written and adventurous novel. Linde is the queen of plot twists, and once again, she’s left me hanging from a cliff, as I wonder how our heroine, Cyrene Strohm of the Doma, will save the day! 5-star review. 2019 favorite!

It just keeps getting better...
The Society is the fourth book in the Ascension series by K.A. Linde. This book is in no way a stand-alone instead it contains a storyline that is so elaborate and fascinating I honestly have no idea how she keeps making it better every time but once again I am in awe of her skills.Picking up right after the desolate ending in - The Consort - Cyrene and her crew have a mission to fulfill and need to find a way to reach a land where no one they know of has ever traveled. There is great danger before them and every obstacle you can imagine but Cyrene is determined to save the people of Emporia from a fate worse than death. Many mysteries were answered but a few still remain while Cyrene gears up for the final fight. There is not a YA paranormal series I would recommend more highly than this one! I really would give it more than 5 stars if I could - it is that darn good!

The Society
This series is my first (and only, so far) delve into the fantasy genre. I am sooooooo loving it sooooooo much. I'm loving Cyrene's journey and her developing character and friendships throughout. This book is the best so far (and that's saying something). You MUST read it!! It's excellent! Roll on the next one!

Best book in this series!!
Let me start with saying that after everything that happened at the end of The Consort – especially with Avoca – I was really on edge to know what happens next. And believe me I haven’t been disappointed. As Cyrene’s story goes on in The Society it gets even more adventurous and exciting. Her journey to find the dragons (yayy DRAGONS) and save Avoca and maybe even the world leads her to new places; she makes new friends, enemies and so much more. The story doesn’t leave out to surprise you. It has twists and turns and OMG that ending!! I can’t believe I have to wait another year to finally read how the story continues. But I know the wait will be worth it.I am a sucker for magical stories and The Society had everything I could have wanted. It couldn’t have been more perfect. The people, the dragons and all the magic in this book made me fall so in love with this series. This book is a true masterpiece and I can’t wait to read what happens next to Cyrene and her friends on their journey to save the world.

Only finished 25%
I’m going to stop starting fantasy series that are not completed. I only finished 25% because I forgot a lot of what happened and was bored by what I was reading. I know I liked the first three though but I had no desire to reread them in order to get into this book. My advice, wait till the 5th book comes out before you start.
