Not well written and a bit single-minded
This was not very deep or well informed and came across as preachy in some paragraphs.I struggled to finish it

Didn’t finish it as full of misinformation
Awful, the health chapter is way out of order with lots of misinformation and author claiming he knows the best. Also very prescriptive and points the reader to typical conspiracy theories documentaries. As a public health professional myself I find the health chapter absolutely appalling. All credibility gone after that and I returned the title. I wanted to read a book about money and not listen for over an hour silly health advice. To not to be so negative some of the health advice was just a common sense - like don’t smoke. However, saying people should only eat organic foods or even better to grow own produce and have regular acupuncture (especially for dental health!) is not evidence based and not helpful at all when you just want to read a book about money.

Nice book
Easy to read and comprehend. You can feel that the author knows about values that he talks in real life, how they are formed, how to stick to them and how to pass them to your kids.

Poor quality of book physically
Very poor quality printing & paper quality

Addition to a modern classic
The original principles and recommendations of The Old Money Book hold true and this updated version includes nuance for the COVID era as well as expanded opinions of the author. As a long time fan of the original (2013) and blog reader since its inception I can safely say that long time readers will not be disappointed and new readers should feel welcome. New readers should prepare to learn a thing or two about how to improve their way of living by applying age-old principles. The original Old Money Book has made a tremendous gift (as do other writings by Mr. Tully) and that remains true.I’ve seen in other reviews of the 1st edition of The Old Money Book some concerns voiced that I’d like to address. Criticism of the plain and direct writing style of this book miss the point; it is the reason that this book is so universal and applicable. Others were looking for magic bullets or mystical insights into the lives of the America upper class but much to their disappointment this book didn’t satisfy them. But perhaps they didn’t realize that their ideas of how the upper class lives are just ideas and the reality really is in this book. It seems like “common sense” but putting into practice this advice is not so common. So, thank you to Mr. Tully for an addition to a modern classic in the world of non-fiction so often populated by useless “self-help” books.

A Must for All, Regardless of your Money's "Age"
Well written practical book. Perfect for someone starting out in life, or anyone who needs a bit (or a lot) of advice. The book underlines the value of things in a way that few tomes bother to address. It speaks of a philosophy that values quality over quantity, recognizing what things are truly worthy of financial investment, and how to live a good life. Whether you have a fortune or just a fortune in debt this book will guide you to the other side, and a better lifestyle. It is my observation that much of what the author states is utter truth. The people that hold wealth generally are discreet to the point that you would not suspect. The wealthy usually do not live like reality stars with tons of flash. They usually live like the person down the block who drives an oldish but well maintained car, wears a cotton shirt that me be a tad frayed but yet is washed and pressed, and always seems to be doing interesting things that do not include shopping.
