These loofah sponges fit the bill!
I had no idea that the sponges that I’ve been using for years are actually made of plastic. The news of this horrifies me. So I thought I would try using something more natural and environmentally responsible. These loofah sponges fit the bill! I find that they scrub and clean the dishes much better! They might seem stiff at the beginning, but this goes away almost immediately, and they are quite easy to use and to wring out. Each one has a little loop on it, so I can hang it over my faucet at night to completely dry it out for the next day.To continue, I use a lot of nuts and seeds when preparing meals throughout the day. Sometimes I find that a sponge will get tiny seeds caught in it. Just holding this sponge under running water generally washes the seeds out. I also alternatively use a dish cloth to wipe up areas where this might happen. Also, I read in a previous review that this sponge can get dirty looking and discolored. Actually, most sponges will eventually get dirty looking and discolored! If I am cleaning up blueberry juice, coffee, or something that might stain the sponge, I just put a little dishwashing liquid on it and rub two ends of it together, and the stains tend to go away! I could not do this with my other (plastic) sponges. I will also place the sponge in the microwave for 30 to 60 seconds, which keeps it germ-free. I am so pleased and thankful that I now have a better sponge to use!Lastly, I think the only way to see progress with getting all of the plastic out of our oceans and environment is to convince companies not to sell anymore products (such as sponges) made with plastic. This can be accomplished simply by not buying them! Buy natural loofah sponges instead!

A great deal. A wonderful product. Great value. Loofah loofah loofah loofah loofah loofah loofah I love you loofahThey don’t have any scent. That is unless you wash them dirty dishes and leave them sitting in dirty dishwater for a week then my friend they will definitely stink in the sink, you think? But seriously they are really really great. And you get a ton of them I think they were like six in the package.

Expands a lot in water; hard to get into rims/corners
This expands a lot when it gets wet the first time. This makes it hard to get into some places in pots and pans.

Great product. Use as directed
I love that there's no glue in this product and it cleans dishes well. There are no scents or chemicals in this product and it holds soap well.

Good results, but limited lifespan means poor value
Each of these mini loofahs is quite small, similar in size on the largest size to the kitchen sponges you find in packs of ten at supermarkets. They are little handheld conveniences. The extra thinness balances against the relative stiffness of them, meaning overall they can squeeze around corners and crevices in kitchenware about as well as a kitchen sponge can, no better or worse. The texture has a good level of abrasion on it, good for scouring a pan to get dirt off without feeling like you’re going to scrape all the other coatings off at the same time, and combined with a bit of elbow grease, the results on a washing up session are reasonably satisfying. An unfortunate effect of the fibrous texture is that a lot of the smaller pieces of dirt get picked up and retained within the sponge quite readily, so they look dirtier and less hygienic much more quickly than a sponge does. That’s the main reason why I don’t think they are as reusable as I’d hoped. And because I won’t get as many uses out of these as I’d hoped for before they seem too unhygienic to use, the value of them starts looking much less favourable. At time of writing these pads are one quid fifty per pad- and for the same price as one loofah pad you could get literally dozens and dozens of the sponge versions. If these things were as cheap as sponges, or nearly so, I would be stocking up on them for sure, and considering not buying the regular sponges ever again. But as it is, the poor value makes it a non-starter.

Great value and environmentally friendly.
I've always been a big fan of loofahs, we had them when I was little, great for exfoliating arms and legs but too scratchy for the face. I can't for the life of me think why nobody thought to use them for dishes. They are roughly the same size as the little dish scrubbers, you know, the ones that have a scrubber on the top and foam on the bottom. They work more or less the same. Efficient at scrubbing dishes and pans and no plastic which is a big bonus. Just use them as you would normally use a scrubber, I haven't used my plasticy ones since I got these. They have a hanging hook, you really need to hang them up or leave them somewhere to dry between uses. I always rinse, shake them a bit dry and hang them up when I've used them. This way they last for ages and depending on use one should last a good month or two. They are also brilliant value for money, I always used to get the more expensive dish scrubbers as they had greener credentials and lasted longer so less waste. These are way cheaper and can be composted,I tried to grow loofahs once but couldn't get them to grow big enough by Autumn so they ended up going mushy. I've popped a photo of mine so you will have an idea what they look like when growing.I would highly recommend that you give them a try, if you don't like them for washing up then you can scrub your legs with them.

Adaptable eco-friendly scrubbers!!
These are the best "green" scrubbers I've tried. I don't like using plastic moppettes and sponges because they shed microplastics into the water table, so I'm always on the lookout for good alternatives. Unlike many, they're really durable - coconut fibre scrubbers don't last long but these are really hard-wearing and when they get dirty you can even put them in the washing machine. They're made of the same material as bath loofahs and indeed, you can if you wish use them as exfoliating sponges in the bath or shower, although go easy and don't rub too hard or you might make your skin sore.Where these really come into their own is as washing up sponges. They look flat when you first receive them but as soon as you get them wet, they swell up and become fat yet still very flexible. (see picture.) They're great for scrubbing food off plates and pans, although for really baked-on deposits I'd probably still use something more rigid like a brillo pad or brush. They rinse out and dry quite quickly and have a handy loop you can use to suspend them from the tap so they don't lie in the bottom of the sink. They can also be used for cleaning the bathroom - I used one for cleaning the bath and shower and it worked a treat.Really pleased with these - and at £8.99 for a six-pack they're really good value, especially as they last so long.

Scrub sponges on some tough dirt
This sponge reminded me some sponges my mum used to buy when I was younger. They were kind of sticks that after put in water were becoming soft sponges for kitchen /bathroom cleaning. They arrive flat, nice to see them growing in water, also for my children.I have used one for the kitchen helping me to clean the sink and the hob, one for the toughest dirt on dishes, and another one for the bathroom to be able to scrub the sink, toilet and bidet.I use this and after that a dry cloth to dry and leave it shine.I must say it really does a good job, removes the dirt without leaving any scratches.Highly recommended.
