HobieKayak Deep Gear Bucket 2018-71704021

This bucket fits my Hobie Compass kayak perfect. Going to be a good place to store my phone, sunscreen, etc.The lid didn’t fit down tight in one spot so I used my hairdryer to heat up the area, pushed it down and held it until the lid cooled. Voila!

I like that is not a shallow bucket. I mean who would ever want a shallow bucket? Over priced but its hobie so hurrah for branding. I flex on other non hobie buckets. Super easy to install just got to remember to remove the old bucket. Thoughts and prayers!

This will fit perfectly in the 8inch standard hatch on a 2022 Hobie compass, I spent 30 minutes shaking and tilting my wifes kayak after she put her phone in the hatch thinking it would stay there. With this it will stay right there! Worth every penney, I just ordered another for my Kayak, also a hobie compass.

I like that this product is deep. Stores more without cramming. BUT, it is flimsy. Does not hold its round shape and falls off of the lip if too much weight is stored. The product is useful with limitations.

I purchased this bucket for my Hobie Quest 13 when I fish the brushy, swampy areas of near by lakes and rivers. Snakes, wild hogs, and alligators are common where I fish. Bear in mind, I DO NOT go on a shooting spree just because there are snakes, hogs, and gators. But, one needs to have an insurance policy in the form of a Taurus Judge for that situation that requires deadly force in areas where medical help is hours away. This bucket holds my policy securely and keeps it dry just in case. I can also carry live bait, iced drinks, or extra fishing tackle if I am fishing calmer areas of water as well. This is a must have if you own a Hobie and use it frequently.
