Love the grinders. Ordered two more sets as gifts (I prefer the silver tops to the black tops).The chrome holder does not work very well - it needs more bars on the bottom shelf to prevent the bottom edge of the grinders from falling between the bars. And the holder is as expensive as the set of grinders....

These grinders are pretty cool. Very responsive, as it takes only a little tilt to engage the grinding mechanism. The light is an interesting addition--for me, it's not really bright enough to make a difference. They do hold a good amount of salt and peppercorns. They are not flimsy and feel good and ergonomic in your hand. The stand with handle is nice and looks good left out on the table or counter. The grinder is not very precise. I prefer a coarser grind at times than these can give me, but I'm picky like that. They take 6 AAA batteries each, so have a 12 pack on hand to use. These would not be suitable for an chef de partie by any means, but are a nifty addition to my kitchen.

My daughter received the gravity salt and pepper set for her wedding. We liked it so much I bought a set for myself. That was in 2020. Have loved them nad have not had any problems ... and I haven't even had to change the batteries after 2 years. Then I gave a set to friends this past Christmas. Within a couple of weeks one of them stopped working. (boy that was embarrassing after I had talked them up!)After taking it apart and cleaning it and replacing batteries (following the recc for battery type). I finally determined that one of the battery contact points wasn't working correctly .... it worked if I held the battery in place with my finger, but not if I just put the whole thing back together. I sent an e-mail to the company and received a response within an hour! Extraordinary! I received a replacement set within 2-3 days ..... and it works perfectly. I consider this to be extraordinary customer service! Now I will not hesitate to gift this again in the future!
