Spin the tornado spheres on a smooth surface and use the blowpipe included to accelerate their rotation. When the Tornado Spheres are spinning you can create a fascinating miniature light show by shining the LED mini lights included at them from different angles. Try it in a darkened room for best effects!.

Mine works just fine
Just got mine today. You need to give it a good spin to start. Per the instructions, a thumb on one ball, and your index finger on the other, and then pull away quickly. It's the same way you might spin a coin using two hands. Once it's spinning, you use the straw to blow air along one side to speed it up. The straw that came with mine was not tapered on one end like the instructions say.Pointers...It will work better if you can get a tube that is tapered on one end. The case from a ball point pen would work. This will allow you to get a higher air velocity coming out of the tube. I was able to use a plastic straw with one half of the exit hole pinched off.If you have a surface you can tilt, then you can keep the balls from moving away from you every time you blow on them. Once you get them up to speed you can level it out. I used a granite counter top sample. A piece of glass or a mirror would work well too. It's pretty impressive sounding when you get it up to speed.

a misrepresentation
This is a useless gadget. In the video it shows a wonderful toy, but it is tiny and not very interesting for the kids. it also delivered very late.

No matter what any of us try, we can't get the thing to spin. Completely waste of money

Unable to get function to work--overpriced.
Haven't figured/been able to get it to work... Actually haven't been able to get its function completely worked out. Very limited in it entertainability.

Fun little toy. Worth the money for time wasting!
Not quite as easy as they make it look. But fun. Laser is pretty cool by itself! Hold down the button and the laser starts changing colors.

Five Stars
Awesome fun and a little dangerous as well :).

You would be better off buying a top instead
This thing is worth 50 cents from a grocery store vending machine at most. It is nothing more than a couple of magnets (real small ones) glued together. Doesn't work on most surfaces and when it does work it is not anything worthwhile. You would be better off buying a top instead.

which you spin between your fingers like a penny
This was so unbelievably disappointing - after looking at it we decided not to give it as a gift after all and got something else instead. It is now sitting in our cupboard 'in case of emergencies'. It is literally just two small ball bearings stuck together, which you spin between your fingers like a penny. I'm pretty good at spinning pennies, and this thing only spins for a small amount of time extra. The 'disco light' is a small led keyring light which you shine onto the balls as they spin, but it really isn't too catchy. I wouldn't recommend this one.

Waste of money
The Science Museum stuff always seems rather rubbish - and this is no change from the norm. Two metal balls that are glued together and a strobing keyright light. Roughly 10 seconds of entertainment and a cold feeling of - is that it !This is a failed gift, I'd hate to see any recipients face and how poor a present they would have just received.

Don't really see the point!
Bought as a Christmas stocking filler for my daughter. Tried it out and couldn't get it to spin for very long at all. Key fob style light didn't seem to do much either. Well made though. Overall not really impressed. She'll probably spend 5 minutes trying to use it then it'll be forgotten.

Rubbish rip off
Waste of money eye. It’s just two little metal balls which you can purchase with out the fancy wrapping for 30p!!!

It works but it's pointless
It works but it kept the kids occupied for about a minute. I supposedly saved £1.99 but I think £6 is to much for this.
