Herbal Essentials Day Defence Cream, 96% Natural Ingredients with Wheat Germ Oil and Shea Butter, Bursting with Essential Nutrients and Antioxidants for Soft and Nourished Skin, Premium Skincare 50ml

This claims to be formulated with pure Himalayan Spring Water, high in essential minerals to boost skin renewal and enriched with Wheat Germ oil, Shea Butter, Aloe Vera and Sweet Almond Oil. The product comes in a small aerosol glass bottle which is white with black writing and a blue motif. This is in a box which mirrors the bottle in appearance. Looks quite clinical, clean and fresh.It decants a white cream which has little or no smell. The cream feels rich as you rub it into your skin and is absorbed quite quickly. My wife has fairly dry, mature skin but it left her face and neck feeling soft and hydrated all day. Her skin looked fresh and clear. It claims to suit all skin types.At £36 for 50ml this product is middle of the range cost wise.My wife liked it and will consider buying more when this is used up. She did not like it as much as her Estée Lauder but that does cost a lot more!

This is a thick creamy lotion that contains Himalayan spring water, which is supposedly high in essential minerals like calcium, magnesium and potassium, which is claimed to boost skin renewal. It also contains wheat germ oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil and aloe vera, antioxidants and omega 6. The cream is stated to be suitable for all skin types.The cream comes in a small box, that looks rather like an eye drops box to be honest and the cream itself is in a little glass bottle with a pump action lid, as shown in the pictures. It takes several pumps to get the first bit of cream out and it comes out in a thin strip as shown.The cream soaks quickly into the skin and leaves it feeling instantly smoother and softer, without leaving any tacky residue. The cream has little to no fragrance, although the ingredients state it contains "parfum", but I cannot discern a scent.I think the biggest issue for me is that the cream does not spread very far... I didn't think my skin was that dry, but I seemed to need to use quite a lot to get good coverage of my whole face and I would be concerned that at that rate of usage, this 50ml bottle would not last long at all and it is very expensive. I have had similar results with other brands that cost much less and seem to spread more with less, so I would have to see what the difference is over time, as to whether I would be willing to purchase this again.

I'm very impressed with this beautiful moisturiser. The ingredients contain lovely hydrating properties such as shea butter and various oils - it's having great effects on both my partners and my skin. My partner is having drying effects on his skin from intense Chemo and its actually really helping his skin which he just can't put enough moisturiser on usually and has tried every cream going - even Urea 50% but he's very pleased with the results with this one, he's needed to use a lot regularly but he's starting to feel his skin is finally well hydrated and it's looking more glowing and brighter again which is amazing. It has a slight scent but it doesn't bother us.The only downside for us is the £35 price-tag because ideally we'd like to purchase this regularly as it's really helping but as we've already used a third of it just getting my partners skin back to good quality we're not sure we'd be able to afford this as it's a fairly small-sized pump but if it's ever on offer we'll definitely be buying more.

The Shea butter in this day moisturiser makes it very thick, rich and creamy and it feels very luxurious. Smells nice too - quite a gentle scent that wouldn't bother anyone. The ingredients include shea butter, wheat germ oil, aloe vera and sweet almond oil - the blurb says it is formulated with Himalayan Spring Water. I have to say that I do rather hope they are not really importing Himalayan spring water (at vast expense presumably) to make this. The list of ingredients includes water but does not specifically say it is Himalayan which hopefully means they have merely analysed and mimicked the properties of that particular mountain water.This moisturiser should suit any type of skin and although I am no chemist the ingredients would appear to be fairly pure and should not be a problem for anyone. It really does go on very smoothly and feels extremely nice on the skin. My only complaint is that for an expensive product like this it really should come in a more efficient container - it is a pump but it is lightweight plastic and I had to have quite a fight with it to make it work at all. Having finally got it going I don't feel confident that the mechanism is going to last as it doesn't seem to produce an even flow and feels a bit flimsy. I hope I am proved wrong because the moisturiser itself is excellent.

I love I have never been a fan of skin creams other than for sun spf factor use .but now after the menopause I found the need for something to help my skin look better and for hydration although my skin is still in the realm of combination.This cream is in a pump and if you find it hard to prime at first then un twist the top ,pump and then do it up again after you see the cream in the dispensing nozzle.The cream itself looks very firm but melts easily into the skin with no obvious trace left behind, I found 2 pumps to be the amount I neede but each pump doesnt produce a lot.The cream is lightly scented and didnt produce the usual itchy eyes and runny nose that can be a problem for me.Almost from the first use my skin looks brighter and I,m happy with the results of the product.But full disclosure I did use this in combination with the night cream that matches this day cream.Very happy to continue using this in my new regimine.
