The two star review is wrong as of now. These are high quality split rings with a true 17mm width on the outside of the ring. This is a perfect loop for certain car key fobs that are on the bigger size. The ring itself is a chromed nickel plated steel as described and the price is reasonable as well because you won't be able to find these at an art store easily and even some at art stores like Michaels cost 3-5 dollars. So for an extra coupe of dollars you get what you need within 2 days if you have prime shipping. The rings are cut inwards so they won't scratch your objects, they bounce back to leave no gap, and they are indeed a high quality product. I am not saying that in the past these could have been of poor quality but I am saying that now on May 13th 2016 the product being sold is of very high quality and you should have no worries purchasing this product. I was skeptical with the two start review but in the back of my head I was thinking "This product couldn't be that bad and if they were wouldn't they have replaced them or taken the product down by now?". So if you are looking for split rings this size, just go ahead and buy them. I tried putting a key on one of these and the split ring bent apart and wouldn't go straight again. I ended up returning the bag for a higher-quality product.
