Our product is mainly designed to keep water from penetrating through the treated surface and allows vapor transmission or "breathability" through the other side so I'm not sure if this product would be ideal for waterproofing a basement floor. I would think an acrylic product might work better for your purposes. You could also check with that product manufacturer to see how well tile will stick to it. **Q: If used on a garden bed will it excrete chemicals into the plants?** A: What you would need to do is spray the product and then wait 24 to 48 hours for it to fully dry. I would then rinse the surface with a water hose or allow it to sit for an extra few day before introducing soil and plants. This product contains a surfactant (detergent) that makes the silicones water soluble so, once sprayed onto the surface, the surfactant will begin to leach out and additional rinsing will speed up that process.
