Nurture, Inspire, Learn How did you come up with the idea for this product? As the increase of technology devices saturated the market, Kayle Concepts recognized that children’s playtime was being replaced by tablets, smart phones and other technological toys and learning devices. The notion of having an inseparable, huggable plush best friend had apparently become a habit of the distant past. With the intent of bringing back the plush buddy, Laura Jiencke, president of Kayle Concepts had an idea of combining traditional plush toy designs with state-of-the-art technology. The concept of an educational “ huggable” plush learning companion that could be combined with a wide range of online digital content would provide children with a great source of Entertainment while assisting in Educating and helping to develop Communication skills. Our interactive Bluetooth tech companions are able to connect the traditional with the future while bringing fun to learning and reading. Kayle Concepts partners with various educators, therapists and app developers working toward creating innovative educational toys that incorporate cutting-edge technology while providing an interactive learning experience for all children. What makes your product special? Bluebee Pals are more than just technology; they are a friend for your child that can give them a voice, read and share. The concept of an educational 'huggable' plush learning companion that could becombined with a wide range of online digital content would provide children with a great source of Entertainment while assisting inEducating and helping to develop Communication skills. What has been the best part of your startup experience? The evolution of Bluebee Pal as a true assistive technology educational tool for parents, teachers and therapists who use them. Bluebee Pals are used at home, in classrooms and in therapy sessions. I love seeing how Bluebee can help all kids of various abilities.

Good learning toy
I like Bluebee here, but you need to know something about him. He is essentially a stuffed animal Bluetooth device with a moving part, a speaker, and a way to answer the phone. If you are expecting more than that, well, you will be disappointed. That said, this is NOT a bad thing. In fact, it has a lot less to break and, for the audience you are getting him for, he works great. As far as Bluebee is concerned, he will call himself that all the time when turned on. You cannot get him to stop that, so he has a specific name. My daughter didn't care and called him something different, but I wish you could name him yourself.Blueblue is easy to set up and easy to use, and he requires little to no understanding of electronics. To set him up, turn him on. When you do so, he'll search for something to pair to. On your device, turn on your Bluetooth and search. You'll see him there, ready to pair. Click it and connect. When Bluebee is connected, he will Only connect with one device. That means that another device in the house synched will keep it from pairing or even having your device find it - depending on the device. If you have trouble pairing, first make sure that is not the case and then set your device close. He has a good range; we have been playing with him all overt.I tested him away from a device - I have a test online, but it is not with kid's material. I synched him with Saw because I was bored, so note that before looking it up. It is on YouTube, under this user name. I will upload something more kid friend/ with setup rules if someone needs/wants it.Bluebee is really good for snuggling; my daughter likes to lay on him instead of letting him hold s a device, and that is nice. He works in conjunction with her kid's kindle, and will work with any other Bluetooth device. Now, his mouth moves at a specific speed so synching is NOT something that happens a lot. With kids, however, it works out and reminds me of older toys, like Teddy Ruxpin.

Quickly lost interest for 3 year old (watches screen and ignores the puppy)
We got the puppy version of the Bluebee Pals Pro for our 3.5 year old son. When I first showed him "look! the puppy talks!" he was very excited. We synced it to his Kindle Fire (very simple process) and opened some of his Disney Learn+Read apps to have the puppy read the story to him. But within 30 seconds of starting... his head drooped from the puppy's mouth to watch the screen itself. The concept is cool... but it's not "exciting" enough to hold his attention. It essentially just becomes a (somewhat annoying) Bluetooth speaker.I say somewhat annoying because as the head and mouth move, you can hear it opening and closing and moving. In all, I think he still gets some enjoyment playing with the stuffed animal (as I'm writing this, he was telling me "the puppy is sick!" so we turned on a Doctor McStuffens video to stick with the theme. But the options (puppy included) really aren't that "cute". They're just average in quality and design and seems very overpriced for what it actually does.We haven't synced our Bluebee Pals to our iPhone to try out the recommended app, so maybe there are some unique features there which makes the system more engaging, but using the dozens of apps on his Kindle, the colorful, moving display is much more engrossing.

Educational and fun
**************************************************Bluebee Pals Plush Interactive ToyFive StarsThe Bluebee Pal plush elicited some squeals right out of the package before we even had a chance to turn it on. The four year old to whom we presented the toy definitely loved the cuddly looks. Powering on the toy and connecting it to the iPad was a simple process. The parents now just have to decide on which apps and story books to download. We have not tried making calls on the toy yet, as only the iPad is available to pair with the toy at the moment. The sound quality is decent for the storybook apps, but playing music sounds a bit tinny through the Bluebee Pal's speaker. Fortunately the little one does not notice the sound quality and simply enjoys her music.Overall, the Bluebee Pal interactive plush toy is a neat way for our little girl to get a jump on her reading and writing.**************************************************

My three year loves Hudson. He has the Kindle Kids Edition and Hudson will read anything available so far. My son is autistic and in a special school program, and between school and Hudson, his speech and attentiveness has greatly improved :-)
