Great Family Game
This game is a great one to pull out on a cold winter day or whenever you are looking for some easy family fun! The gameplay is super easy to learn and is different every game. My family really enjoys this game with the colorful tiles and easily understandable concept. The simplicity of the game lends itself to being able to teach younger players the concept of strategy in a laid back, non-intimidating way.The pieces are easy to hold, easy to place, and it is easy to see what is on them. As you try to connect your pieces to get the most connected paths, you will have fun looking at the scenes of the characters running through what looks like a fun and whimsical setting.

Fun game with our 4 year old!
My husband and I love original Carcassonne and got very excited when we saw this as a gift idea for our board game loving 4 year old. The concept is easy and takes a little bit of thought, which has got to be good for his developing brain! The tiles all match up in one way or another, but he had to learn to pay attention to places that could complete his roads for meeple placement. His face lit up when he realized that. The game pieces are well made, just like the original. Heavy cut tiles. Wooden meeples for placing. The artwork is cute and we noticed a couple of funny little things. The price was suitable for the quality. I love that there is not a bunch of little pieces to attach or set up. You just open the box, divide the meeples up and play. Super simple to start and clean up. Looking forward to getting this game down with our young gamer!

My 3 yr olds favorite game that we actually enjoy playing with him
My kids can play this on their own but it is also still fun enough for adults that we don't dread playing it. My 3 yr old picked it up quickly and loves it. Our 5 and 7 yr old love it too. They all ask for it. The game takes just long enough to make it fun, but fast enough they don't lose interest. It can also be popped in a Ziploc bag and be very easy to travel with. Easy to teach to others for playing at a gathering or while traveling.

Fun game. Pretty tiles
This game was easy to learn and quick to play. The average game takes us about 15 minutes. However, we played several times in a row because we were having so much fun.My six year old and three year old enjoyed it, though the three year old didn't really understand the rules and just placed tiles randomly. I'm interested in trying the adult version now.The quality of the pieces is great, and the illustrations are beautiful. Happy with this purchase.

Love it!
Perfect game to play with younger kids. It's easy but engaging. Keeps their attention for at least two rounds of the game. For young kids and their attention span, I'll take it!

Great Game for 4 - 6 Year Olds
SUMMARY - My First Carcassonne is an excellent game for young children that teaches some basic strategy and is still fun for adults.HOW TO PLAY - The game consists of large chunky tiles that have a road on each side - some roads end and some connect to another side. Some roads also have children of one of the four colors. When a road is closed on both sides, a meeple can be placed on all children on the road. The goal of the game is to be the first to place all your meeples. The light strategy in the game is deciding when to close a road. I can close this road and place one of my meeples, but my opponent will be able to place two - not a good move.WHO IS IT FOR - Families with young children. I'd say 4-6 years old is about right - older kids are ready for the full Carcassonne.PROS - Quick playing, beautiful artwork, and not just blind luck like most children's games.CONS - I think this appeals to a limited age range.CONCLUSION - My 5 year old son loves this game. He really enjoys being able to build a little town out of all the tiles. Very highly recommended.

Fun game
This is a fun game for kids! The original Carcassonne is pretty different, but would be way too hard for most younger kids. My 6 year old easily understood the rules and will hopefully be better with strategy as he gets older.

Four year old enjoys it
My husband and I love Carcasson so when we saw this version, it was a no brainer! We play it with our four year old and it’s so fun. There are so many different elements involved for learning too. Love to watch him slowly begin build an intentional strategy.
