A mailbox made out of an old aluminum scuba tank or cylinder. It is 22 inches long. The exterior is 7.25 inches in diameter and the inside is 6.25 inches in diameter. It has been stripped of old paint, cleaned and then repainted with a bright metallic blue paint. Due to that it has the usual nicks and dings, but it is in great condition. This also allows you to put stickers of your own dive club or shop on it to help decorate it. It has a used tank boot on it. It is kept closed by the friction of the boot. The flag is made out of thin aluminum and has a dive flag painted on it. The hinge is a very strong, stainless steel, designed for marine or boat use. I have drilled, tapped and used thread locker on all the screws so they should not come out. I also fabricated a stand/base for it out of aluminum sheet. It is held in place by heavy duty stainless bolts. It was designed to fit on top of a 4"x4" post like many mailbox posts are made from. It has a total of six holes drilled into the sides of the base so it can be securely fastened Since this is a real scuba cylinder it is pretty heavy and weighs a little over 30 pounds.
