It really does kill small flyby pimples fast -- nothing for cystic though.
First things first: I have quite sensitive skin and often swell up and turn red with other products. This product does not irritate me at all, and only stung mildly when I (in my eagerness) got a smidgen in my eye -- so while I wouldn't blindly order it based on that tidbit (everyone's allergic to different things) for the average "sensitive skin" person, or for unsupervised use by sloppy children, it would be OK.The product doesn't really smell like sulfur. I was secretly hoping it would smell very brimstone -- like when you strike a big kitchen match Just Right. In actuality, it smells something like cheap sunscreen. The scent doesn't "linger" in a way anyone else could smell it, I can smell it barely on myself but despite my sensitive nose (I can't stand any form of perfume without going full "SpongeBob in the Perfume Section") it doesn't bother me.My skin is somewhat oily, this strips off excess oils without drying me out. That was a problem I had with black soap. It's mild enough that I feel OK with washing my face multiple times a day in a really oily breakout time (package recommends 1x a day). If you have dry skin you might have to moisturize afterwards. For smaller pimples, it works wonders. You know when you get an aching little pimple in between your eyebrows, or on your chin or the side of your head? And it's driving you crazy and you want to bully it until it pops? Well, this won't kill it instantly, but it will make it stop hurting within a few hours -- which will help you in the long run, since if it doesn't hurt you're not tempted to pop it as much -- and will slowly kill it over a day or two, and the body eats it up and trashes it a day or two after that. Which is a better track record than any other acne product I've ever tried (most of which turn me into a tomato, and the others do nothing). It doesn't do anything for my cystic acnes, other than keeping the face nice and clean to help avoid feeding them -- so my face doesn't really look better, but it feels better due to the opportunistic little aching pimples being killed faster. Also, this thing doesn't "shrink blackheads" or whatever the people in the other reviews are saying. Due to its exfoliating properties very small new blackheads may fall out, and existing ones will be starved of new skin cells to grow off of, but to be clear: this product is a soap. It's a good soap, it's a zit killer, but It won't "shrink" a dang thing. One tip: the package says to use a "small amount". I use about the size of a dime, or "a really small splorch" depending on your system of measures. You will REALLY want to lather this up. I mean add like a full handful or two of water to it and rub so vigorously that you're convinced it's going down the drain. I tried using less water and it was just awkward and "toothpastey" to put on and didn't do anything for me.

This Works!
There's nothing glamorous about this cleanser except for the instant results it delivers! I could not be more impressed by how fast this went to work on clearing, brightening, and healing my skin.I've had some sort of redness/patchy issues with my skin for years that my derm said was an early stage inflammation related to rosacea (it had a long name I can neither remember nor pronounce). That is now totally under control with the help of medication and this cleanser. The topical gel my derm prescribed did a great job of clearing up the redness and flakey patches on my face but it made me break out with nasty will zits and whiteheads :( This cleanser cleaned that all up and brightened up my skin considerably in just a few days.I'm totally hooked on this now as everyday my skin seems to be in better shape than it has been in years! Whiteheads I thought would never go away are clearing up, my pores seem smaller and less noticeable, and I can't remember the last time I saw a pimple on my face. Even better, this has not dried my skin out like any other "acne" treatment would. The only thing I don't like about this product is that it is extremely irritating if you get it close to your eye area. That should not be a deal breaker however! I've never believed in using an eye maker remover before, but it's totally worth it to have to add that extra step to my routine in order to get the results this cleanser delivers!

Not my favorite
The cost of my prescription sodium sulfacetamide face wash went through the roof when the FDA took away the approval. My dermatologist suggested getting sulfur soap off Amazon. This stuff works but I couldn't stand the scent. I threw away the bottle, and tried something else.

Worth a try
So I work in a non climate controlled environment and my job has a lot of dust. A. Lot. Of. Dust. Clear skin has been out of my reach for years, as I suffered between allergic reactions to N95 masks and finding a routine that worked for changing out my fabric ones when they got sweaty. This is the only thing I have found that has seemingly erased acne from my face. I still get an occasional cystic pimple right along the mask line now and again, but out of the hundreds of dollars I have wasted on products that didnt work, this was my holy grail. Smells kind of like sunscreen too, which can beat out a handful of other products by that alone. A little bit of the product goes a long way, so the price on this is a solid bargain.

Best Kept Secret. Adam Levine watch your back!!!
One of my sons has had severe acne for years - he’s now 20. We tried acne.org and the product that Adam Levine sponsors-I can’t think of the name of it right now. But I did a ton of research about five years ago and discovered this stuff because of the sulfate content. I originally got it at freaking Walmart and it worked so well that I started buying it here. It is truly the best kept secret because not many people know about it and it’s also very very in expensive relative to the other stuff

Works well for rosacea on chest
I've been dealing with breakouts and rash on my chest -- or maybe a form of seborrheic dermatitis. Nothing from the dermatologist seemed effective, and some prescriptions made it worse. I stumbled on this cleanser and started using it a week ago -- and the results have been quite remarkable.I lather it over my chest and shoulders, then leave it on for about 5 - 10 minutes before rinsing off. I do use a cream from the dermatologist after this routine -- but it seems to be much more effective after I started using this cleanser. A big difference, in fact.

Is this being discontinued?
I've been using this cleanser for a few years now, but haven't been able to find it anywhere. This cleanser is good. Cleanses off makeup good and keeps pores clean. The sulfur bar just doesn't work the same. Hoping this comes back in stock.
