NuvoReeds for DooD, Clarinéo, jSax (N160RD20)

Highly recommended. The #2 strength reed for the Nuvo Dood makes it easier to play the two highest notes in tune. The Nuvo reeds are good quality plastic/synthetic reeds that work very well for their instruments, and include a lower ridge for ensuring a perfect placement on their instruments. The Dood comes with #1 and #1 1/2 reeds, which play easily but make the two highest notes difficult to play in tune without mouth shape and lip practice or alternate fingering. The #2 will sometimes make the lowest note harder to blow, (It takes more force, but stays in tune,) but it is easier to get that right with the #2 than it is to get the higher notes right with a #1.I play the Dood for my own pleasure, but it is more often a learning instrument for children. Children will find the reeds it comes with easy to use, but they should avoid songs with the upper two notes. When they have mastered the basics of the instrument, a #2 reed will help them get those upper notes, although they still may need alternate fingering.

I'm picking up an old axe. This was a good choice for me:)

Replacement for my son's JSAX. Works great just like the original and pretty durable. Not sure what the bad reviews are, these are plastic reeds, meant for beginners and designed for Nuvo instruments.
