It works!
After 10 years of heavy use in the Arizona desert and its hard water, the PVB began to develop a grinding noise when the downstream irrigation valves would open. The noise was so bad that it could be heard throughout the entire house! The valve in conjunction with the replacement poppet kit, not only eliminated the grinding - but once repaired, it ran so quietly that you had to place your ear next to the PVB housing to detect that water was even flowing through it! Very pleased.

Better Instructions Needed
Got this after I replaced the bonnet / poppet assemblies and it still leaked. After a lot of time struggling and reinstalling the parts, it turned out I was just turning it back on wrong. Inlet valve will be closed as part of the process. First, replace the parts. To turn on, you need to first close the outlet valve, then quickly turn on the inlet valve. This activates the internal components. Then you can turn on the outlet valve, completing the repair.) This manufacturer needs to include a source for detailed installation instructions. I spent way too much time on the web until I stumbled on the secret.
