NOWFoods Hawthorn Extract Extra Strength (600mg)

I use these for my Blood Pressure, just to ensure as I age that my blood pressure remains good. I haven't ever had high blood pressure, but as we get older (yippee) our bodies have a tendency to play evil tricks on us so I take natural supplements and have been able to remain healthy. So bottom line, they seem to work. They have a little taste of greens but nothing unpleasant.

I'm a healthy woman in my 40s whose blood pressure was creeping up. I think it was due to anxiety, so I was prescribed antidepressants along with hypertensive medication. I’ve been using this product for years slowly graduating to 750mg per capsule. In the lower dosage it helped me with day to day stresses of work and home life. I gradually increased the dosage when my Mother-In-Law’s dementia worsen. My husband’s family were in denial and their fear and refusal of acknowledging that she had these disease which was later confirmed by her doctor my patience wore thin them not her. My husband takes this product as well. Now that his mom has passed away we lowered the dosage to help us be less stressful more focused and calm when life throws you a curve ball. I would highly recommend this product but start at the 100mg dosage to see how much you need to help you.

When I lived in England I could make my own hawthorn tincture/syrup from the wild berries in the hedgerows.. but they are a bit more difficult to find in Southern California.. I've needed to switch to hawthorn in capsule form instead... I don't know if it's strengthened my heart muscle or not, but my cholesterol has dropped steadily since I started using hawthorn with little or no change in my diet and I'm no longer constipated... A nice side effect.

This stuff is amazing. Not sure if my liver enzymes are just really good at breaking down supplements but this has lowered my BP from elevated to the normal range. Also noticed more restful sleep. Not sure about effect on Cholesterol, will see with my next physical.
