Great little filter
The media could not be loaded. I'm actually pretty surprised by this little filter. I got the one for 2 to 5 Gallon, 40 GPH, 3.5W and inhabe it in a 4 1/2 gallon bowl for my Betta. It works well and keeps the water very clear. It's pretty strong, see my video 🤣 but he seems to like it. I unplug it at night for him just in case. Super easy to install and it's pretty small and doesn't take up much space which is awesome. It sticks to the side well with the little suction cups and even on my curved bowl it holds on well.My ONLY complaint is it said one of the stages of filtration was carbon but I put driftwood in my tank and it's not removing the tannins so I'm honestly not sure if it's actually carbon in there. I took it apart and there is a little bahgy of something along with a spong but not sure. It's definitely not removing tannins I'm having to do water changes until they stop releasing.

THE BEST FILTER I'VE FOUND SO FAR.
THE BEST FILTER I'VE FOUND SO FAR. It was so easy to set up, and it works AMAZING. It's nice to have it running in the background, it sounds like a little waterfall, and I work from home, so it's great white noise. My goldfish were even playing with it! They keep swimming up to the clean water that is being filtered back into the tank.

These filters are great for many uses, maybe not a betta. 4.7/5stars
Using this on anything under 7 gallons may require a little work IF you have a betta. The flow rate on this is superb, but the spray bar doesn't reduce the flow enough to make this really work with bettas. You could add extra fine filter sponge or filter floss in the chamber and simply remove the charcoal cartridge or add a tiny bit in the spray arm, but doing so WILL increase maintenance needed on this thing. If you're using this with other nano fish, mind the direction of the flow and you'll probably be fine. That said, this thing is great for simply polishing the water and adding flow. The only downside for me on this is how often it needs cleaning. Expect to clean this nearly weekly. Not a big deal and it's easy to do, but compare it to the Aqueon 10-20 Hang On Back (HOB-with flow reduction dial-works in a 5 gallon) or Tidal 35 (can also be cranked WAY down to nearly no flow), and I think I'll be using those instead. This is a great filter, but after using for nearly a year, I've decide the less my hands are literally in the tank, the better. With both HOBs, I keep my hands dry and the fish are happier.Again, great filter, but just like with sponge filters and canister filters, your hands will be in the tank.TL:DR, Requires power, requires you to stick your hands in tank, no flow control; consider aqueon 10-20 and Tidal 35 at similar price points for easier maintenance.

Works great
It came super fast earlier than expected was kinda confusing for me to put together but that's cause I over think things lol but now it's easy to put together and easy to clean. Make sure it's submerged fully and leave off for at least a minute before turning in on.

Pretty okay.
Overall not a bad filter. I have one and a topfin 10g angled tank so it’s a bit longer than a normal 10 and it’s still fairly strong. It’s very quiet and compact. It comes clean and works right away. I just wish it was adjustable.

Small but powerful
I ditched my sponge filter because it couldn’t catch larger particles in the water. This little filter is 2 stage, with a larger sponge and then a charcoal pack. It churns out lots of water for such a small unit. The other reason I switched was that the air pump was a bit loud and I could never get used to the constant drone, especially at night. This filter also does a great job of aerating the water, so an air stone would no longer be needed. I get more volume, more circulation, great aeration and better filtration. Easy disassembly for cleaning. Takes a minute to clean out. It comes with a rain option as well. The tank wasn't getting much circulation before, but now the water is flowing well. There are enough spots in the tank for the fish where they don't get pushed around by the water flow and can chill. I like this filter a lot and I would use in additional small tanks if I add more.

THIS is the filter for a 5 gal up to 20!
The media could not be loaded. I'm pretty sure out of all my lifetime Amazon purchases (& I'm from Seattle, y'all, when they just sold books!), this is the best. Here's enthusiastically why!•Totally quiet, as in, "person who gets rhythmic noises lodged in her head easy & thus greatly irritable" quiet.•Versatility: I bought it for the rainfall attachment, but alas, it's suitable only for a 20 gal & not even a ten. It's a strong stream, definitely audible & stressful to fish and it's nothing but disruptive in a 5-10 gal tank. I was unable to slow the flow despite a few sponge-insertion attempts. Wait that's not it though!•included is tubing with a port to adjust air flow, which lets me keep it gentle enough for Byumba's resistance training for his pending matches with the fish in the parallel aquarium.•Filter & media: my water is clearer than the glass, and labs have never been perfect but for real...it's why I'm enthusiastically reviewing it. It comes with a black, coarse bottom sponge, a tiny little basket that holds a wee sack of coal (carbon), and enough room on top for a 1/4" of sponge media or four ceramic nuggets. Adding the sponge layer helps but clogs after 6-7 days with noticeable stoppage. I'm currently trying the ceramic nuggets to enhance it & slow it down a little.•Suction: very firm, almost difficult to remove, but they're small cups.•Packaging & delivery: all good.I'm grateful to every person who's ever written a detailed review & especially posted a video or pics. I hope this helps beginner or returning small tank hobbyists, like me, who simply need to know the best quality for lowest price, esp nowadays.

Good but...
Cleans the tank well. My fish like it, but the flow is very strong. Not suitable for fish who need low flow.
