Q: I just built a casting deck on my 14ft narrow width jon. Will this be better than a pedestal seat on the bowdeck?

It is a lot more stable. I added 3" to it to make it high enough. I had it on the boat for about ten trips before I noticed it caused a big blind spot ahead of the boat. I took it off because of safety concerns an went back to my pedestal. It is a great product but not for the front of the boat.

Q: What is the footprint of the legs? Need to know if it will fit in the open bow area of a Smokercraft.

Don't know the exact footprint, but I have a Hewescraft River Runner with open bow and there is plenty of room. I attached the swivel also so you can swing from side to side....best seat on the boat!!

Q: Will this work in a inflatable boat

If your inflatable has a hard bottom, it"ll work. If a soft bottom, I would say no.
