A Cup with Rumi: Poetry

I have read hardly any poetry, but a friend urged that I read Flamur's book. While I am sure that my inexperience with how poetry "works" limited my full appreciation of the book,I was moved and touched by Flamur's thoughtful and intelligent coupling of his poems with short but insightful sayings by Rumi. This book would be an excellent way for other poetry neophytes to experience this art form, not to mention being treated to thoughtful inspiration.

I liked the poems because they are easily readable, introduced me to Rumi, and present some views I had minimal prior exposure to. The poems speak about the place of man in the grand scheme of life. About being humble, seeking simplicity, changing from within, and expressing love.

Flamur Vehapi is a prodigiously talented writer with a true gift for poetry. His intuitive sense of how words look, sound and “feel”, combined with his desire to share insights into complex matters of life, religion, faith and family, allow him to express himself with tremendous beauty. His poems are deep, powerful and richly evocative. I cannot recommend this fine book enough.

Mr. Flamur Vehabi's poetry is written in simple words, yet deeply reaching one's heart. While reading his lines of poetry, I was able to sense Rumi's substantial inspiration on Flamur's expressions. A book like this one is inspiring for all ages and certainly needed during a time of spiritual crises and commotions.Imam Didmar Faja
