Curse Breaker: A Shocking Murder Mystery Paranormal Thriller (Red-Line: The Fletcher Family Saga Book 1)

Mildly interesting
Very much like a soap opera. Plot was juvenile and drama resolved with little effort. Far too much explicit sex. Needed a lot more details or build up to mystery. Won't be looking for more from this author

Surprise! I didn't see that coming. ;)
4.5 Stars!!!I love nothing more than a book that surprises me and this one so did. So much so, I couldn't stop grinning. J.T. Bishop gives the reader a bit of romance, action, mystery and suspense, then she twists it into something else altogether. This author took what was seemingly two different stories in two different genres and blended them together into one hell of great read.I went into this book completely blind, so I didn't realize it was a continuation of series. No matter. It read beautifully as a standalone and I suspect, maybe even better than if I had read the previous books.I was immediately caught up with the characters and the mystery of the curse, trying to solve this whodunit along side the MCs. With a long list of interesting side characters, there is no lack of possible suspects. We can choose from a jilted lover, a charming best friend, a jealous buddy, a grumpy cop, or a slighted old acquaintance. One of them wants to see Grayson suffer and has gone to great lengths to make sure he does.In the first half of the story we get to know Grayson much more than we do Gillian and there is a reason for that. Gillian is harboring a secret that comes to the fore later in the book and her revelation took me by complete surprise. At first I was, "You've got to be kidding me! For the love.....why?" but it worked for me, adding complexity and depth to the story that took it to another level. Now I'm headed back to the beginning to figure out where all of this started.

Hooked from the start
Wow not the story I was expecting at all. Made it sound like boy meets girl, boy having problems, girl helps solve them story done. Instead there is a mystery here with twist and turns that didn’t expect. Got to the point when thought okay it was going to be all wrapped and was a good story at that point, then bam twist. I admit I got caught up with the characters and was hard to put down the book till the end. Actually was interrupted and couldn’t wait till I could read more. I hope to read more about the other characters as felt they were well rounded also and wanted to find out what happened in their lives. Wil be looking for more books by this author as it was a story I would read again. Was a happy for now but I hope this characters get touched on in further books. I was given an ARC from Hidden Gems for an honest review. Love trying out new to me authors this way so that I can find some keepers. This author was definitely one of them. Matter of fact brought the book after done reading this just so can read again when I want to.

Pleasantly surprised!
I'm always delighted when a new-to-me author makes me sad it took me so long to find them...thank you J.T. Bishop!Curse Breaker enthralled me from the very first chapter. Full of action and suspense and it's fair share of surprises, this story was pure entertainment.I believe my book slump is officially over, I can't wait to read the other two in this series.

Very unusual read
I thoroughly enjoyed the first 70% of this book. Very well written, interesting, complex characters. A great "who done it" that had me guessing. It could have wrapped up nicely at the end of the first 70%. The remaining 30% of the book was too strange. I would recommend this book, just don't read the last 30%
