This is a great value bow with about the equivalent of a medium stiffness brazilian pernambuco that exhibits a good degree of flexibility. What carbon bow offers is that you can get better stiffness for a lower price, so you lose a bit of sweetness in the sound (debatable also) for not using a wooden bow, you gain for much better control and hence may deliver better music. At Old Violin House, we import carbon raw materials from South Korea instead of Chinese producers. South Korean raw materials we find give better strength and this translates to stiffer bows that moves musical vibrations better.
